The only way to combat RMT is through bans and filters. I'm all for allowing us to use custom filters.

I agree, gil buyers are as guilty as gil sellers (if not more guilty). However, everyone knows how easy it is to pick out the gil buyers. Won't be different for SE.
SE has another problem, they won't ban them since they pay a sub which is far more important. It also takes away manpower to "investigate" an account. Manpower that could be used for development, again far more important. At the end of the day we get the occasional "X amount of accounts have been banned due to RMT activities" (which no one can verify).
Unfortunately RMT comes with MMO's. Best to stay away from it and play your own game.
