Small change to glamour for a big improvement!

I love this idea! Even if they set it so only the lvl 1, no stats at all, stuff is set up like that it would be a vast improvement. It would also be handy if you could try on more than one item at a time to see how combinations work together. It's one of the few things I miss from WoW.

This sounds like a very good idea.

They have this in dcuo, if you have collected a piece, you can glamour it. I can't remember if you have to equip it to collect it and that makes it so you can't sell it after, but I think it does. Still much better than the current system.

What if, instead of just registering the gear into a book, you gave it to an NPC and registered it that way? That way neither the markets nor your inventories get flooded. They could have some short story sidequest associated with them in order to unlock this feature.

They could even eke out an entire questline with this, like the NPC needing a certain set of gear for a certain purpose, or needing only a single particular item, etc. This could actually get more and more people grinding the lower-end dungeons again, for "ugly" loot they may otherwise have had no interest in.

And hey, what better way to award completing a particular set than with a piece of exclusive gear!?

Destroy the item in the process, if you want to have a full wyrm set... destroy all the set in the process, want the pvp gear... destroy the gear in the process.... that mean, in order to have all gear, people will have to revisit all content.

But!!! I have a male gear (snow ffxiii set), choce wise or get another set in the next year event... Ill destroy my zeta weapon, yes you will... you can buy the replica with the npc and destroy it...i destroy my non dyable item.... I repeat, its your fault.... get dyable gear and destroy it once more.

Glad you mentioned the FF13 Gear. If items stored in the Armoire Chest were exempt from being put in the glamor book, then everything would be balanced. Event Gear in the Chest, Vanity in The Book, and What ever gear you're currently using in the Armory Chest. Also, I'd like to see DoH/DoL main hand equipment separated. There isn't enough space in the main hand section to even fit one of each class, let alone any alternate weapons or gear.

As for the markets, there's no real threat to them. Just bind it upon registering and that keeps it off the MB. And trust me, you're not going to break the system with the measly amount of gil NPCs give you for gear. And Materia is like the stock market. It's going to crash sooner or later. Pre-3.0 Grade 4 Materia was selling for 150-300k per, but now it's around 15-30k tops. Though how much grade 5 materia is worth is kinda unknown as there hasn't been a lot of it made yet. But in time it's market bubble will inevitably pop too.

Only improvement I'd like to see is prisms consolidated.

Keep them separate by craft type but holy hell do we really need 5 ranks of them?
