I think its time BRD get some loving

I'd really want a statistic for actually how many people are doing the FCOB.
Based on the level of play I see in DF groups daily, I'd say it's about 15-20%.

That leaves 80 to 85% of the content in the game that the bards are weak as hell compared to equally geared / equally skilled other jobs.

But haters ignore this, yet pretend they aren't annoyed being grouped with 2 bards in 4 man dungeons. Grouped with multiple bards in the front lines, grouped with multiple bards in any content not called FCOB basically.

No bard is asking to be top DPS, we just want to put out some respectable #s instead of being considered GARBAGE in everything outside of FCOB.

Every hater posting here is acting like FCOB is the only thing in the game, when it's only done once a week.

PS - Bards are considered a DPS class.
Our role in the latest 8man raid is primarily support, but everything else we are lumped into as a DPS class, so let us at least do respectable DPS

It is a very important storyline to experience after all and ya people can take the easy way and Youtube it but experiencing the story directly makes it feel more worth it.

"Fortify the spirits of your companions", "inspire your comrades to great feats." You are not there for awesome deeps. You are a support class. Get used to supporting your party. That is your job.
A good bard is indispensable not "only for your buffs", but also your DPS contributions. You are the only class in the game whose attacks are not restricted by positioning nor mobility. You can be a source of constant DPS even when evading or repositioning. The only class with ZERO cast time on all attacks. That is your strength and contribution. If you feel the need to have DPS equal/comparable to a pure DPS job, then go play a pure DPS job.

Maybe you are disappointed because in other MMO's archer types are usually high DPS contenders, and sometimes chart-toppers. But that is not what this job is, in this game. Get used to it, and maybe you will learn to love the class for what it brings. ;)

I dunno, get drg as your partner?

But anyway, isn't brd is kinda support-ish job? If you want more damage, I suggest waiting for the new range job? Machinist in 3.0 maybe?

Your role is support in every encounter. I'd agree that bards probably don't need to have the healer limit break. But, there's no reason for them to do more damage while singing songs. Besides, I can push 360+ DPS while singing ballad and I'm not the best bard by any stretch of the imagination. I can also count on one hand the number of times I've been grouped with two bards in DF for a dungeon. And when it's happened, I didn't cry about having to DPS a boss for about 15-30 seconds more because we had no DPS limit break.

Like I said, SMNs are in far more dire a need of a buff. And the problem is, since ACN is the base class for SMN and SCH, Square is struggling to figure out how to do it. SCH certainly doesn't need a buff. Right now, if you buff SMN, you'll buff SCH. They need to figure that out first.

more seriously, i think people need to cooldown and wait to see what they will add to the bard for the 10 more level. more important, do you know why the bard feel like this? because SE did think no one want to play a support role. when you have this sort of thread popping time to time, you make them right. bard will always have crappy damage it's normal, it's called balance.... the bard is the only class that are assured to get a place into a raid. not even the whm/sch or pld/war are assured to get the spot. i means, you can go with a group of 2 pld and 2 whm leaving the sch and war out, but you will never leave the bard out of the raid.

about the requiem foe damage boost, yes is like your damage, people saying is not true just need to understand...if you don't play this song, this damage will not be there. you are the source of this damage, not the blm or smn. they need your song for do this.

I hope for even more supportive skills in Heavensward. ATM having more BRDs in any content is just pain so I atleast hope to be even more useful in other ways. Maybe songs empowered by traits at lvl 60. Paeon + 10% psychical damage, Ballad + 10% healing done, Foe - 5% DPS done from mobs.

I expect us BRDs to fall even more behind in DPS in Heavensward so the buffed songs should be NP.
I would also love to see support limitbreak. We will also have other 3 dpses in party so another dps LB won't be usable anyways. Support LB might be on other hand useful a lot.

Guess I just manage to hit crap melee's then that I often end up on top of DPS enmity(or right after) or when parsed am top or second. Frankly I don't see a need for a straight up buff. And I do want to see what we're getting in 3.0 but am sad that we are losing the heal LB - it saved more than one run in it's time.
