Kicked before last boss

People should stop blowing this out of proportion. Think about how many dungeons you've done and how many times this has happened to you. I'm probably around 800 dungeons completed and I can count the number of times I've been abusively kicked on one hand.

In addition to that, I can think of more times pre-vote-kick where people would join dungeons or raids and then just go afk right at the start. Before vote kick you could either a) carry that person or b) leave and take a penalty and the only thing that's changed is c) vote abandon.

My point is, no matter what SE changes or does, shitty people are going to abuse the system in order to grief people. I can guarantee that the average person will have more good experiences than bad ones, people just don't come here to talk about their good experiences generally. Take those bad experiences with a grain of salt and just move on, otherwise the trolls win.

I agree. There should be a 3:1 ratio for kicks to be allowed. If only 3 peeps are in a dungeon, a 4th member must join the party, to complete the vote.

This is why we should be able to 'name and shame' people and not get in trouble. PS4 for example lets you hit a button to save off the last few minutes of gameplay to a video or save a screen clip so seems to me like it should be justified to post a record of abusive players.

But if it was me doing it, that would mean it was for a good reason so it should be ok.

Report the vote kick abuser. Even if it seem like nothing is being done about it, at least there will be a record of it in SE database. When they data mine this stuff it will highlight the trolls clearly. But I've known people who were trolling CT and got reported and got penalties from the GMs. They even went so far and called me the snitch, a title I was gladly willing to assume, and I did report them too. So the stuff that is actionable if people do report, the GMs do what they have to. The problem is for player not on your server and not in communications with, it is entirely not obvious as to what action has been taken.

SE GM's are pretty good at dealing with issues just report everything even if they feel it's not enough for them to be punished at least next time they do it there will be a record that they did it before and they will probably be punished for persistently abusing kick. It doesn't seem like trolling it seems like somebody needed roulette but was doing something so they just decided to get them in on the last boss to get the roulette rewards or something. Not seen many troll kicks in my time it's usually just to help a friend abuse the system.

Simple solution: Don't roll on loot until the timer is about to finish. You can't boot people while there is loot, and you can usually clear the next boss within the time limit.

There is a very easy way to fix this. Nerf the loot - reduce drops for all remaining members if a party member is kicked, and maybe for those who join in progress too.

Drop rates should decrease proportionally. No penalty if any members are kicked at the beginning of the dungeon. If 4 of 8 objectives have been completed, a vote kick will adjust unopened treasure chests to have a 50% chance of giving allagan coin pieces (remainder of drop table is scaled by 50%). Tomes and gil are also reduced by 50%. Once the boss room is accessible, any successful vote kick results in the final chest only dropping chubs (any tome rewards are reduced to 10 soldiery).

All players, including those who joined in-progress, will be ineligible to receive Allagan Robes. No sands, no oils, no diamond dust. On the unlikely chance that you're a legitimate player and for some reason have no choice but to kick someone near the end, you can just run it again.

eta: I really don't get why anyone would go to that level of effort to steal tomes, they're really not that hard to cap.

It sucks, but there is not much that could be implemented that would prevent this abuse and not open up another way to troll.

If it becomes harder kick someone falsely, it becomes harder to kick someone for trolling.
If it becomes easier to kick someone who's trolling, it becomes easier for a group of trolls to grief by kicking people that don't deserve it.

Had these people who abuse the system been on your server, you could damage their reputation for their behavior by contacting their FC. But since we often get matched with people who don't exist in your game before and after the dungeon, there is no discouragement for trolling in this way.
