/shrug. Why not just go demand the compensation from the ones who attacked the server ?

No and it shouldn't be expected. It's one thing if Sony decides to compensate (which they have) but SE shouldn't have to.
It's your choice to use PS3/PS4 which uses PSN. If tomorrow my ISP has an outage and I can't play FF14 on my computer, I wouldn't expect SE to compensate me. I'd like my ISP to consider compensating (depending on why/how the outage happened), but it wouldn't be SE's fault. Just as I wouldn't expect Netflix to compensate users who weren't able to stream Netflix via PSN or Netflix via XBL. -
