Widespread stability issues in general across North America and elsewhere..it's particularly bad along the US East Coast, where most of us get routed through on the way to Montreal. And it's not just FFXIV--even services like Netflix are feeling the impact. Might have something to do with all the thunderstorms and such in the big storm system moving through today:

Just saying... you may want to take a moment to see what may be going on along your route to the servers before piling on SE, as it may not be something at their end causing the problems:
It's been raining almost continuously in our area for the last 24 hours, which is known to cause issues for us locally. Old wiring and crap... Time Warner is dragging their feet on upgrades--still see RG59 run in some neighborhoods. Notice how bad that hop for that Conway, SC gateway is lagging in response times. That is a stone's throw from a major retail/tourist trap called Waccamaw, which is on the way into Myrtle Beach, SC.Code:C:\Windows\System32>tracert 199.91.189.30

So, on top of issues that can be tied into foul weather, it is also getting hammered simply because it is mid day on Christmas Eve. That is a prime gateway for us, and it is simply grossly overloaded at the moment. It isn't enough to case me to drop out, but it is causing noticeable jitter in the game and video streams. The Roku's are also buffering about every 10 minutes or so.
this has been happening to me all week, hoped the patch fixed it but first shiva ex i joined kicked me off after a couple of mins, 90k then 2002 errors for the last 10m still cant login.
It only seems to happen in instances like dungeons and trials, everything is perfectly fine, then bam screen freezes then 30secs later 90k, no lag either on teamspeak and skype when this happens.
Thanks for the information Raist, appreciate that :) Yeah I was curious as to what may be causing it, I'd never solely lay the blame on SE, because they're are a myriad things that could go wrong between me and them, I'm going to do a trace route myself in a bit, see what comes up. Haven't been online since yesterday so no idea how the servers are at the moment.
