Is FFXIVAPP legal?

You can kick people without cause. Why even try to say "You can do it for X but not Y". Just start the vote, nothing will come of it except a replacement.

That means stuff like bots or hacks. I've been playing MMOs since MUDs and I've never heard of anyone getting banned for a parser in any game.

I can't parse because I play on PS4, but asking people for my dmg numbers has made me a better player on more than one occasion on multiple different classes.

It has little to do with calling out bads, and everything to do with how they go about calling them out. Nobody complains when this is done in a civil manner. If you are being a tool about it (throwing it in their face, harassing, berating, etc), then yes, you are indeed a bad guy.

EDIT: I was trying to reinforce the reason for those people being the "bad guys," not accuse Nadrojj. Just wanna make that clear.

A third party tool is ANY software that interacts with the first party program that isn't officially sanctioned and created by the first party. Parsers read information that is logged by the first party (the game) but allow you to then use that logged information in a way that is not usable by those without the parser.

It's third party, no matter how you swing it. Don't be naive about these things, if you're using a parser, don't talk about it. fight club.

Export Combat log into Excel and bam you can now effectively parse an instance without a parser.

FFXIV is a place where its acceptable to verbally abuse tanks and healers for being bad and get away with it, but not the dps that is pulling 150 on full 110 gear.
