Auto run in levi ex? Probs not a good idea.

It will change filters when you change stance if you configure it to change filters when you change stance. Or you can instead configure it to change filters when you select one. It's true that trying to set both options at once causes strange behavior, because then it will set according to whatever happened last, as your example shows. It works better if you choose either one option or the other and not both. If you turn off the stance-changing filters and turn on the L1+face button filters, then those filters act just as you'd expect them to.
Thank you radioactive_lego. I'm looking into your suggestion - unfortunately I do love my shared hotbar; I use it extensively on my Smn. Do you know if there is a macro command to turn on and off shared hotbars? I really need shared hotbars for my Smn, but I can kind of do without them on Whm. But having to go through the character customization menu each job change is a bit too much.
if all you ever do is heal 4 man parties, you can have your return macro on number 4. I have this macro handy, and paste it over my 4to5 macro on the off chance roulettes give the healer bonus.
another alternative is to have the return on 7, which allows you to keep your shared hotbar (default 8). this means you will not be able to heal player 8 except through traditional d-pad means. so long as dps is at the bottom it's not a huge deal.
radioactive_lego, thanks for your suggestion but there is just way too much sacrifice with it. But it gave me the idea to just devote 8 buttons to each party member.

If L1 + Triangle and X are already mapped to targeting filters, as Niwashi said, can you at least implement macros - /target <prev> and /target <next> would really be helpful. I do not have a "claw" like Yumi Umi. I need my left thumb for movement. The less I take it off the analog the better. Now off to make my parties suffer until I have this button layout hardwired...
trying to get a youtube clip to upload from my ps4. I added a reverse order cycling, and still kept 95% of my healing and offensive skills on one hotbar through some creative macros. will post as soon as i get smarter than youtube

super easy
so if you couldnt tell from the video, i'm using the two numbered buttons to cycle thru the party, and skills/spells as needed. since all the offensive spells are macroed over the healing spells, it just depends on whether i target a player or a mob as to which spell i cast. i left the help descriptions up over the buttons for the audience.
I personally wouldn't listen to radioactive. the amount of space you lose is just unreasonable compared to what you gain. If all you do is heal dungeons and hm trials go for it though.
So what does one do once level cap is increased?
