What's the day of Tokyo fanfest?
I think people have put too much thought in Yoshida's statement that the gunner class will "not be what people expect". He may be referencing to the role, rather than the name. Lots of people for example are already speculating it will be a healing class of sorts.
Regarding name and story I am still 100% convinced it will be musketeer. The guild is already in the Coral Tower. The guildmaster already exists (Reyner), and musketeers were already seen among the Yellowjackets (which coincidentally are under Reyner's command), both in the open world (Coral Tower's practicing room) and in cutscenes (Rogue's quests). There is already plenty of role fodder and teases towards Musketeer. I would be shocked if Yoshida's statement of the gunner class's "unexpected nature" to be related to anything other than its role in the party trinity.
You're being voluntarily blind here.
New city state, new jobs in it. 2 of them have been announced : a tank and a healer.
And that's not even considering the fact that Limsa has 3 classes already within its walls, just like Ul'dha and Gridania.
Musketeer in Limsa is only a relic of the past. Why can't people let that go away ? The new jobs will be related to the new city. Just like they should.
If any new job is to come in old cities, it won't be before a few patches
Why must you be so aggressive? I was genuinely curious if there was any specific announcement about the other new jobs coming all from Ishgard. From the sound of your answer, there really wasn't, so until we actually see what it is, your guess is as good as mine and as such I think I deserve the benefit of doubt without being attacked.
Either way, I have been longing for a gun class since 1.0, and so long as it will use a one-handed gun (like the Musketeers in Coral Tower) and not a shotgun, I'll be happy.
Additionally, who's to say we're only getting one gun class/job? There is more then one type of gun.
What? No he doesn't... And further the reference to "The Man with the Golden Gun" is a direct reference to the 1974 James Bond Movie "The Man with the Golden Gun." It can be absolutely nothing else.
For reference, THIS is Laguna Loire's gun:
