OP is level 32. Anyway, I honestly don't see how this is any different than selling EX primal/Coil wins. He's providing a service, and they're agreeing to pay for that service. Honestly, I think he could charge more. As far as not knowing about the duty finder... people really need to read the help more if that's the case. There's a whole help category on DF that pops up on your screen. This is a default setting, so you actually have to go turn them off if you don't wish to see them. If someone knows enough to turn them off, they more than likely know about DF.

Now that's a shame if people really feel that way. I've been bouncing between Star Wars the Old Republic, Rift, and WoW, and I have to say that FFXIV is the game that made me enjoy tanking again because of the lack of unlimited tank threat. The role has tension again which is great, because I play better that way. Can't wait to get into the harder content.

That's even more alarming. What, did they just decide to start the game and do this?

And Ex Primals/ Coils make some sense because that end game content that not everyone is able to do and it has drops you can't buy so if you "buy" a team that wont roll on these drops then you're effectively buying the loot instead of wasting time in pugs (that in MY exp has a 50/50 success rate at best when it comes to EX) and having t out roll other people or begging your FC/ Friends to pass on items they may all want.

so its ok to buy a EX primal/coil win and the loot, but its not ok to charge a dps 1k to skiptheir 45 minute queue time into a low-level dungeon? i think the exact opposite. by letting them pay for a run and the loot, you take out all sense of accomplishment, you take away the skill involved in clearing it, you essentially ruin what it was made for. making dps pay to skip queue times on content that isnt just given to them by a team of well geared, overly competent players, and making them work for their win in the dungeon is perfectly ok with me. ive done it for free a lot. ill see a dps in queue, ask what they are doing and how long theyve been waiting, and if it hasnt been long, ill queue up with them so they can get it done.

I would charge for your time though, not per dungeon; your pricing model is inefficient and exploitable.

I'm inclined to agree with this. When I was leveling my BLM up I would have paid almost anyone to shorten the queue times. 45 minutes of my time is worth a LOT more than 1k in virtual money that I'll make back in a matter of minutes turning in some quests (or even in the course of the dungeon I'm paying for).

To everyone - Learn your class(es). Learn the dungeons. Invest in good equipment (something that can be hard with only the money the game hands you). Remember by playing all roles and alternate with others there is one less person in the queue and you are doing your part to shorten the queues for others.

Since everyone is lazy and stick to one role only for the major part, that's why you end up with Queue times. In order to help the community and not my pockets, I choose to get all my classes maxed. Not only it helps with rotations, but it gives me answers as to : why is he doing this?

Everyone is not the same, no one is forcing you to do it all, that's true. On the other side, that takes your rights to complain about long queue times.

I am a DPS at heart. I am not fond of healing, nor Tanking (it's actually the f2nd Time in an MMO that I do it.)

When Ninja will come out, I will be happy that my other friends will be able to Tank for me, and I will return the favor with pleasure.

There is plenty of Tanks out there: They stick to their own FC bec of the other players giving them shit when they don't play their role well. My question to them: have you even tried tanking in here before judging?

I won't ever pretend to be an Uber tank. I get the job done, a few mistakes, rarely a wipe, but it's part of the game.

Queue times? Only in ST, and that's cause we are all waiting for the last DPS to click his button, often more than not, we have to re-queue, go figure lol

So yeah, as long as some people agree to pay, by all means continue! Doesn't mean they are dumber or anything, it comes down to their own choice of what they want to do with their Gil.

Some FCs are selling Coil and Primal runs. I prefer to test my own skills up to what I can do (and to see that the other 7 are up or not ;) ) But that's just ME, playing the game.

Shortcuts ain't my way, everything will come in it's own due time. Makes me feel a bit like a Pay-to-win, cause that's exactly it.

You will have some that will approve, and others that won't. To each their own.

I'm not talking about unlimited threat generation. I'm talking about having basic tools, like a taunt that each tank job gets at a level where it's useful. Gladiator especially should have some abilities switched around - like shield oath really ought to come before sword oath but SE really, REALLY wants classes to be more based in DPS (even healer classes have more dps spells than healing ones...)

It's not *terrible* here, but there's a lot to be desired and not all of it has to do with threat generation, although that could be balanced a bit better as well.

the problem isnt tank design the problem is not everyone has what it takes to be a leader

i completely disagree with that. i mained a WHM before switching to PLD for my fc satic. you have 6 spells for damage aero, aero 2, stone, stone 2, and holy, i feel like im missing one, but you also have 2 cross class, ruin and blizzard 2. you have medica 1/2, cure 1/2/3, regen, benediction, also the buff stoneskin and protection, so, 6 healing compared to the 5 dps that i remember, and 2 possible cross class(meaning there is every chance in the world that someone doesnt have them), add to that all the extra stuff they provide with that, shroud of sains for mp regen, there is alos one that increases your healing potential, the reduced (cure3) or free(cure2) procs. WHM is in no way set up for dps. can you get good dps, sometimes, but it is unreliable at best.
