I'm seeing this /pet emote as being an experimental feature for future contact emotes like /hug and such. They're probably gonna monitor this emote a bit to collect data for use in constructing the /hug emote.

If they wanna add immersion, throw in some chat bubbles. Kind of baffling a game of this caliber has none.

Honestly 1,000 times yes. I would love it if they replaced /say with chat bubbles or have both.
