Please remove this 2000 total Mythology cap!

I think most of us get that. I still don't think there would be much harm in at least bumping the cap up by another 1k or so.

With the whole 1500 tome books (75% of the maximum capacity) being a frequent buy + how much easier it is to get myth now since 2.3 (particularly with potential bonus myths as a first-timer bonus from duties that you might not necessarily be able to anticipate, like with trials roulette which must be queued solo), it's quite a lot easier to overshoot the cap by accident and waste myth.

It's annoying that you have to grind out 1,500 Myth, then spend it, then do your book, and then grind out another 1,500 Myth. Why can't I grind out 13,500 Myth from Hunts if I feel like it and then do all my books at once? What purpose does making me stop doing books to grind Myth or stop grinding Myth to do books actually serve other than be annoying, especially since Myth rains from the sky now in the game?

There shouldn't be a Myth cap at all now, but if they really want to have one, they should set the cap at exactly 13,500 tomes. The exact amount required to upgrade Atma to Animus.

Yeah, I don't think an extra 1k would ruin things. On the plus side now though if you overshoot your myth, once you spend it it's easier to get more. Honestly I am not against a cap increase, I just don't think SE will be budging on it.

On another note even if someone could save up 13.5k myths, the atma book system still only lets you do one at a time at any point.

Maybe there will be a chance of the cap being removed once SE determines that myth gear is mostly outdated.

Since you cannot have more than one book at a time, what the hell is the difference in a chain of:
Myth Grind -> Book -> Myth Grind -> Book -> Myth Grind -> Book -> Myth Grind -> Book -> Myth Grind -> Book -> Myth Grind -> Book

They might want to save up ahead of time, like when they are still getting the atma crystals. Or they may have all the atma crystals, don't know exactly which weapon they want to commit to, and still want to make progress towards whatever animus they are aiming for.

I think the cap was there for economic reasons back in 2.0 when people had to spend philosophy to get crafting mats, but now I don't think that is really a concern.

I'd fully expect that, once 2.4 comes in Myth will no longer exist, just like Philosophy no longer exists. So the new "unlimited" tomes will be Soldiery, capped at 2000, and a new 450 per week tomes to collect for the next tier of gear. Any myth that you do have will likely convert to Soldiery, so sitting on more than 2000 myth at any time will let people purchase a lot of Soldiery immediately. If they did increase the Myth storage cap, they'd have to make the conversion higher than it was for Phil to Myth.

That's the reason why they probably won't raise the cap. Keeping it fairly low (2000 is easy to get in the current game), means that those who don't have the time to do their duties every day and have much less Myth aren't put too far back when the new patch comes in.

This. I can definitely see a case where someone wants to focus on their relic starting from the Atma phase. While grinding out Atma, save up your myth for books (and subsequent Alex maps) so that when your Atma is done, you are ready to go on the next phase. The OPs suggestion is a good one.

So we're just back to the "skip the books as much as possible" reasoning again? You cannot save up the books/tomes ahead of time. What is stopping you from planning the path out before you even start, then following that plan?
It all comes back down to time. You want to rapidfire the books without the time spent getting the currency to buy them between completions.

The 2k cap is fine.

And you confirmed what you and the OP really want.
You want to be able to get your Relic, spam the FATEs, get your Atma and then just about skip the books phase by squashing it all down into a couple of back to back lowbie dungeon runs.

Here's the thing about this; sure there's a reason for a cap, but 2.3 vastly increased a players myth-earning potential, so it would make sense to raise the cap somewhat. It's just a matter of inflation.

Either way the argument "well there's ways around it" is a terrible defense against saying something's wrong, or when something could be improved. I had to stop by rev toll twice tonight each time buying several raziqsands (500 myth each) due to a good hunting party. That's certainly not the end of the world to need to do that but a request for more leeway, with the current situation, is valid and would not break the game.

Huh? Not sure how you take what I said and go completely off the mark in intent other than perhaps you have no real discussion point to make. What I said is that someone may want to work on the complete relic quest by preparing for subsequent phases while doing the current phase. I'm not sure at all how you get to do the entire books phase in two lowbie dungeon runs - you still need to cycle through all the books one at a time once done with atma gathering. The only thing different is you don't need to insert as much Myth farming between the books as you've done that before hand. You can't skip the books either way. Can't see the problem with that.
