It seems to be that people are looking at this "problem" from entirely different viewpoints, and by viewpoints I mean servers. xD I have a character on Behemoth and a character I play here and there on Famfrit, the differences between hunting on them is night and day to a very extreme degree. Hunting on Behemoth is a war-zone, nobody waits for people to gather x.x its a first come first served battle royale....Famfrit on the other hand is completely different, namely in that its a ghost town in comparison, but also because the incredible lack of desperation found on Behemoth because of the incredibly huge amount of competition you're forced to undergo when trying to get credit at the same time as hundreds upon hundreds of other people. A lot of people aren't seeing a problem with hunts because they are on relatively unpopulated servers or the server works together, but there are some servers with massive populations that have bred extremely toxic players and destroyed any chance of newer players to jump into the mix. Kinda as a member mentioned above; on Famfrit it's possible to get at least 1/2 sands in a day, but on Behemoth it can take anywhere from 3 to 5 days to get a single sand. In the end though, this problem is ingrained into the community itself, no amount of patching or updating could ever fix it so the only option we are stuck with is to either move on or change to a server with less toxicity.
