PvP still zero fun

I don't get this interest in dueling.

It is like saying Tank vs Jet plane, who will win? Oh, the Jet plane won, what a surprise. The classes are so specific that it would be clear before the duel started who'd win. For example BRD would have a really high upper hand in being able to run and gun. As long as a healer can out-heal and MP regen more than the DPS put out, the healer would never lose. And so on.

5) That's always an issue too and I hate when PvP changes PvE in the name of balance. At least they do have spate rules for both PvE and PvP.
6) No, it's not. PvP should be about skill not how over geared you are. If that's why you do PvP, to win not because of skill but gear difference then you're a ganker and not a PvPer. Wildstar didn't invent that and it's paste not pasta.

1. Well Open PvP just worked fine in other MMO's why shall it not work here too? There are 3 factions by the way.
3. it wasnt such a big issue in tera,wow or guildwars for me and i got a 200mbit internet connection.
5. as i mentioned before they should create only pvp skills for each class.

6. in fact it is. It worked perfect in WoW and it works perfect here too. If you talk about skill then why not autobalance the itemlevel in pve too? whats the diffrence? another point whats the motivation of getting better gear if everyone is on the same level? it just boring and ffxiv is everything else as a casual game so why destory pvp with such a change. you cant blame other players of having better gear than you.whats the point of playing wolfdent if your awesome gear is useless in frontlines?? there are only 2 places where you can fight other players and one is restriced.. dafuq???

back in wow vanilla day is was soo satisfying to kill an Grandmarshall Player with your crappy T1/blue Gear, and they are stealing this satisfaction from you if everyone is the same. Its like league of legends, where it doenst matter how many times you died you still onpar with the other player, its stupid.

I mean its my own opinion. If you enjoying PvP thats good, but I am not happy with it. There are too many things missing.

1. No Open PvP
2. No option to duel with other players
3. Latency is a big issue
4. Waitingtimes and stupid autoqueue when someone doenst accept the invite (last hotfix fixed it somewhat)
5. No Balance (as a Paladin you deal 0 dmg for example)
6. Autobalance on Itemlevel is the stupiest thing I ever heard. And its Copy&Pasta from Wildstar

1) I'd simply love to have open world PVP as it makes things a little more exciting. Though without a faction based system I don't see it working well in this game. Maybe later on the Grand Companies can serve as the faction baseline?

6) No, its not. That's just how PVP works. Using item level as a crutch to win doesn't make someone a PVP'er. it makes them a win trader or clipper/ganker player, no skill or honor what-so-ever. No it's also not copied from Wildstar. Its been the standard in PVP systems in every modern MMO game since Warcraft

Dueling makes no sense in this game because solo fighting is extremely simplified. It's the same for PVE and PVP, it's the group play dynamics that make this game interesting. I guess if someone wants to duel, go let them, I just see them getting bored of it very quickly.

1. The three city states are not at war with each other. Not even hostile really. They are allies. In frontlines they've agreed to more of a competition over the territory but, otherwise they have absolutely ZERO reason to attack each other on sight. In fact their leaders are strongly against that.

WoW is pretty much 50/50 pve/pvp. GW is similar but a bit more focus on the pvp. Tera is through and through designed for pvp, pve is almost an afterthought there. In contrast FF14 is the opposite. It is through and through designed for pve. Now, pvp isn't really an afterthought for it in the same way pve is for Tera but, it will never be add in just for the sake of adding it. It has to make SENSE within the STORY.

5. Problem there comes from the sheer amount of skills required to accomplish that. Regardless, I would rather they rework a class like Paladin (who by far is a snorefest imo, ability wise) into something who's gameplay isn't the grand sum of running into a crowd and screaming at the top of their lungs ;P

6. You... You do realized Wildstar just came out... right? And that FF14 arr has been out for almost a year now? Item sync has been a constant all over the game. Why would frontlines have been different? They didn't need to copy Wildstar. It was always going to be this way ;P

PVE is autobalanced for item levels too, just within reason and within the games tiers. A level 50 doing a level 10 FATE or a level 20 dungeon etc. Don't get autobalancing confused as in a level 50 having to drop down for everything and be auto balanced even in their own bracket , just within designated tiers. It won't ruin the quest for gear or such as that's for the high end, the tier they belong in. Feel free to cut loose and have what you want to wear at full power. Though if you think a maxed out geared level 50 should be maxed and full power against a level 30 character just starting out and learning. That makes you a ganker, not a pvp'er. Just like with PVE, if you want to have the max power of gear, then you do the content for your level.

I know that too, maybe the could ignore that fact for the sake of Open PvP. Well thats true i mistook Wildstar for the first because they praised it so big in the Trailer about syncing every players itemlevel. my error here sorry lol.

Well now i am confused. I thought in frontlines where only level 50 players are allowed the autobalances only allows a specify level of each attribute to be balanced. lets say if you have 500 stamina it would reduce it to 350 so everyone is the same, it doenst care if you wear a level 110 chest or level 80. Thats what I am talking about. Maybe I mixed something up there. But still autobalance isnt the biggest issue for me. its point 1-5.

If you're queuing for Wolves' Den, that's your first mistake.

Tanks in PvP are not damage dealers, so you're not meant to do that much damage, or even "tanks" in the traditional sense. You're annoying flies that stand in front of a healer and autoattack during every single cast until your team kills everyone else. That's your role. If you don't like it, don't roll tank in pvp because I think it's boring as hell.

My queue times for frontlines are always less than 5 minutes at peak hours, even solo queue. Frontlines queues do not take your job into account, so queue times are the same for all roles.

One on one duels is always something that people think they want, but once they have it, you'll realize that it's not interesting at all. Tankier classes will always win and all you do is mash out your non-positional combos until one guy is dead. Fun for like 5 minutes as you duel your friends as a dps test but then never do it again. Obviously there would be zero rewards for doing so since it could be so easily abused/boosted.

Oh! My mistake and I'm sorry ^^ I thought we were talking autobalances in the full scape and not pertaining to frontlines only. i apologize. Okay that though I do agree with. As long as its limited to players in a certain level bracket. Especially being the top tier bracket I see no real reason why autobalancing would be needed.
