While I agree that the Novus is better than the Gerolt my motivation to diehard farm it is diminished due to the chance of my t9 weapon every week. >.>
So I just casually farm the Novus to eventually catch up with future upgrades.

I wish it would be that easy, I have yet to see the head drop since the one for solderies isn't even an option for the BiS.#
While T6 is easier than T5 it's still harder than the earlier turns and I think that was their aim, it's a new tier and doesn't have to be harder than the final boss of the last tier as first boss.
T9 more than makes up for it and I think it's a huge step up from T5 in difficulty, I highly doubt Echo will be of any help for casuals unless they nerf the whole mechanics once the new tier of coil comes out.

Back to topic:
I think it's fine that they reward the allagan tomestone in CT2.
It doesn't help the current coil raiders at all, it does help some people to gear up and get started on the new coils.
Some groups are slower and have their own pace, we have to respect that and for them it's a big help that they can get their hands on an ilvl 100 weapon.
I would be against handing out Sands though that would be too much, I'm glad that they don't add those right away.

in my oppinion new GOOD content should add something for everyone, which CT2 doesn't do. i would gladly go ct2 if there drops a bufffood with 4 statsboost instead of 3 etc.
the way ct2 loottable is build makes it just trash for everyone that finished t7.

if they do a new CONTENTPATCH were they only change your starting city;would you say : "WOW, brand new content! " But you got new starting quests!

I think it's been pretty well established that CT doesn't quite exist to help gear the main classes of those who are currently conquering the current iteration of Coil. It exists to help the people who are focusing on their main class get some other okay gear for alts and to help those who haven't entered or are having trouble with the current iteration of Coil gear up for it. With that said, CT2 does have something for everyone. Let's take a look.

For Everyone
-A awesome looking and hopefully fun new 24 man dungeon. The mere experience is "something".
-i100 gear to push alts up.
-Vanity gear to make mains look awesome(subjective, but still).

For Those Pursuing Novus
-It's reasonable to assume that CT2 will be a good source of Myth to whack at while pursuing your weekly item.

For Those Who Haven't Started Second Coil/Haven't Beaten Turn 6
-Additional i100 gear to help fill in gaps for mains.
-Unidentified Allagan Tomestone can get damage up for Turn 6.

Those who have beaten the Second Coil or are otherwise past Turn 7 fall under the "Everyone" category. And no, don't even try to say that you've "geared" your alts in coil gear because there simply hasn't been enough time to get 2 jobs all of their BiS High Allagan Gear, let alone just 1, and Soldiery Caps won't have allowed anyone to fully gear two jobs in Soldiery gear.

If you're truly in an MMO sitting around and considering the top tier raid the only piece of content in the game that's worth doing for any reason, you're ignoring a swath of content. You are willfully choosing to ignore a host of possible benefits that Crystal Tower provides, and the only thing that this has proven is that you are the wrong kind of person for this game. Maybe you should just go to Wildstar, since it seems like you two are getting along so well.

It is all according to big plan. Each 6 months there will be a new Coil. For the next 6 months, drops from the actual Coil will be the best. So whatever is released AFTER actual Coil and before the next incarnation of Coil can only be sub par compared to Coil as per definition. If it wouldn't be that way, nobody would feel the urge to run Coil. Donjo has made a good summary for whom CT2 is and how it is helping people.

Last time I checked, around 30% of the players killed Twin and 3% killed The Avatar. I just wanted to point out the "low difficulty". If having an ilvl > 100, an i110 weapon and hours of fun isn't rewarding for you, I wonder why you are still here.

PS I killed the avatar, even if I'm only a substitute for my FC (I stepped back when I lost my motivation) and I don't even roll for loots. My reward is the kill, I don't give a rat's ass about the rest. The new generation of players is really boring, my reward for playing solo game was "Congratulations" and hours of fun.

As for the OP, you saying that CT2 will offer NOTHING for some people is pretty inaccurate IMO. In addition, to your Wildstar comment, I'm pretty sure that game just came out a month ago. FFXIV is going on a year. No comparison. It looks like you're just coming here to complain that the so called "bad" people you chose to insult have an alternative method of obtaining the soldiery weapon.

Some of the soldiery weapons aren't even that great for certain classes. Are there any scholars here that would intentionally buy the Book of Diamonds, when you can obtain the Allagan, High Allagan, or even Novus with preferred crit and determination stats? There are also many black mages who wouldn't give up their crit for the soldiery's spell speed. Just a few examples.

I'm an elitist myself but I can definitely agree on the points that Donjo made wholeheartedly.

Anyways, what I'm about to write might show that I'm not totally ok with it but I want to give my opinion on that stuff anyways.

First of all, CT2 and lets not forget The Hunt, will add something that everyone benefits from.

Other people get to gear up a bit and those that are already clearing successfully SCoB get to enjoy other sources for Sands and Oil of Time to upgrade their gear and can get gear for their secondary classes.

While I'm having mixed feelings about the fact, that literally anyone can get Sands and Oil of Time with Patch 2.3, I couldn't really care less about the Unidentified Allagan Tomestone.

The Upgrade with that iLvl100 weapon you can obtain with that Tomestone is just a really minor for most classes, especially if you already have your Animus or a Tidal Wave weapon.
And if you don't have the Soldiery Stones for the Rowena Tokens, you won't be seeing your new shiny weapon for some weeks anyway.

I'm just assuming this for fun now, but let's just say you happen to be in a good group to raid with but you are the worst player out of that group.
Would you still feel entitled that only those that clear the SCoB can have that kind of loot or would you not feel entitled to the loot anymore, since you know you are the worst player in your group?

Just because you are a elitist or you feel like you are one, doesn't mean you're the best of the best. You could still be the worst of the best~

Another thing I'd like to point out is, even though other players can gear up their main classes a bit with 2.3, I'm still feeling priviliged enough that I'm one of those few players that actually are able to clear the new Turns successfully (T9 kill has yet to happen for me but still, that'll come sooner or later as well).

The new gear casuals and bad players can obtain with 2.3 will definitely not:

1. make bad players better skillwise and therefore, they'll still have a hard time to get their first T6 kill or progressing through SCoB in any way (basically my philosophy here is, bad players will always we bad)
2. make casual players progress any harder through new content that before. Casuals have their own pace of doing things and they could care less when and where they can gear up~

yeah, it's true. But i am pissed that the NEW content won't offer me anything challenging. CT1 was a joke, CT2 will be the same. i understand that SE lives form casual players, but when they release new content, why isn't that content something for every kind of player (see examples for loot made up erlier)? my group is t9 and i just feel ignored by SE, but they still taking my money gladly...

if the sand and oil would drop at the same time, i could at least boost up before the casuals, but SE is denying that by only implementing UAS first.

you should check my monk gear when you re in my profil, that's my main and i really give a s*** about other classes. tank and blm is only for tomefarm to get better dutyfinderresults.

Ps.: after 1 mounth of Wildstar, they added first contentpatch while on some server no one even entered a raid. that's challenging, not implementing dungeons that are autopilot

I'm pretty sure the patch that brought about Coil 2 was strictly for people like you (more hardcore) and not the more casual player. Again, all I hear from you is, "me, me, me."
