Relic Questline about 30% too much IMHO

Well yeah ofcourse it doesnt change the prices but every IV you get from bonding is personally free for you as you are not buying it from MB, but if you value irl time then its "cheaper" just to buy them. Maybe i totally missed your point as its getting pretty late for me atm :P

I was going more for "Okay, you now have a Tier IV materia. You can either meld it or sell it. The difference in gil depending on your choice is the same (aside from taxes) as the difference between binding and just buying."

Well there were / are a lot of people complaining about Atma / Animus so SE thought it would be a great idea to do the same stuff again....

If only they made it that the Materia actually progresses the infusion by the amount of the Materia Grade or something.
Or even just Quest Materia.

It would make the novus quest less a pain in the... and more enjoyable.

Also: We need more gargoyles from the gargoyles chest. 4 aint enough. I need 8 or 16.... pewpewpew

The amount of grade 4 depends on the stat cap. I think the piety cap is ... 33? That means it requires 8 Tier IV (assuming no meld failures). However, if you trade that last 8 piety for 8 spell speed (or det) I don't think you're gimping yourself and you save quite a bit of money that way.

So... tonnes of grade IV or water down your build... sweet.

Today I had 5 failures on my last tier III determination. 50% chance of success and 5 consecutive failures.

Yeah... I'm not touching the tier IVs.

When i first started the atma grind, i thought to myself that it would be cool if doing a fate that pertained to the name of the atma such as doing an water-type monster fate for "Atma of the water bearer" would have a higher drop rate. (not that i know what FATE that would be for each area lol)

The books are fine imo, you can practically get a book every two~three days through roulette's and maybe a dungeon or two.

i'm not on Novus yet, so I can't really say much about it. cept that im most likely going to avoid the teir IV route for now. :x

I agree that the grind is ok the way it is. Warrior of Light or not, having an armory chest filled to the brim with fully upgraded novus relics feels a little cheap to me. Plus it gives me something to do while I wait on my friends to get to endgame. Having a little more diversity in rewards for various content would be nice, though. A handful of myth for some lv50 fates would be nice.

Yeah, feeling like you are wasting myth buying things that aren't for your main blows.

However, it still kind of functions in a good way. You can get myth by playing other classes if you get bored of playing your main all the time to get the bonus rewards. You can also get gear for other jobs playing a different job as well as shared gear sets.

me i will ask something, we know that new jobs is coming and that the relic quest will continue for a long time...
i will take the example of the ninja, since it come soon. some people will switch of main, with the arrival of the ninja, do you really believe that this person will want to redo one more time the whole stuff?

i can fairly understand that some stuff need to be long to get... but there it's way too borderline. it was possible to do it better and not involve soo much grind. Alukah is right, this game motto is one character a lot of jobs... sadly the relic, that it's a way to continue the story of the class have become horrible. with the add of new class, less and less people will do it. (or people with a tons of play time)

for me the relic quest grind is not different of a jobs, it's empty of any fun, and i want to remember you people that: FF14 is a game and you play a game for the fun!
