Try pitting a party of Conjurers against the Odin fate and see how long that works xD

I'm not disagreeing at all, I just thought it was funny because out of all of the reasons the OP had, looking cool was the biggest one.
Sorry if that came across as rude, I wasn't trying to be. I'm actually impressed that someone had the guts to say "I want it because it looks cool." Most of the posts you see on here have long drawn out explanations as to why we should have something a certain way. People tend to forget this is a game, and the most important part of playing a game is enjoying it. So yeah, it does look bada$$, and if that makes you enjoy it more, hell yeah they should add it xD.
I just want them to add in more things like Odin and Behemoth.
I hope Odin himself appears in Gridania and burns it to the ground like this...

Good question. Problem is I am a bit of game addict, since I started playing with Pong (and had been doing wargames and pen-and-paper RPGs for some years before). I just unsubscribed WoW and uninstalled GW2 and Rift. If I also unsubscribe FF14 I will be gameless, for the first time... like ever.
Said that, there is a limit to the grind and lack of fun I can tolerate. Devs in modern games seem to take particular pains in erasing all the chances of fun, the nice little surprises, any kind of "emergent" gameplay. If a player discovers a little innocent "exploit" to, for example, manage to jump to a place without following the usual path, they immediately hotfix the "anomaly" into oblivion.
I don't really understand why they do that, why they want to kill fun and promote boredom so much. But they do that, in every game.
For now, I'm sticking to FF14, though the gameplay is awful, because the graphics and landscapes are gorgeous, and the music is good. But there will come the moment when I realise that I can look at pretty pictures, and even movies, without paying a monthly fee and performing the same mind-numbing tasks for millions of times (and/or being killed by damn Titan etc. for thousands of times). And then it's goodbye, guys.
