Dark Matter, does these still matter anymore?

The thing with repairs for me is that it's a passive gil maker. I'm not big on farming or working the economy or any of that. I just like playing the game by trying to clear content and progressing. And I can do that without worry of losing gil. In fact I make gil little by little. Again I'm not claiming this is a get rich quick scheme here. I recognize it's not but it's a very helpful source of incoming for people with a playstyle such that I have so I'd rather it not disappear or be negated.

Actually I saw it more as a perk for having someone repair it rather than using the mender.
Also, you can't store anything in the armoire that is less than 100%.

Or add repair kits crafted by PCs that recipe requires Dark Matter, they can move Dark matter from GC seals to a vendor thus adding a gil sink from the NPC repair vendor. Then any class can use the repair kits on their equipment. Also keep the repair NPCs in game to regulate the pricing of the repair kits. Aka, at NPC costs 1500 gil to repair your gear, you wouldnt pay 5.000 gil for a repair kit. But if no repair NPC prices would go pretty high.

I like this, we could make 50% and 90% repair packs to reduce waste.

More like... Doesn't Matter.

All SE had to do is to tweak the meld gui a little to show the repair information instead and you had a nice list, where you can immediately see what needs repairs and it would be sooo much more convenient to do your own repairs.

All what we need to fix self repair is an NPC repair cost increasement of 300% and the possibility to repair other player stuff for only 5 gil each repaired %

And a better repair window that sort the list by durability

Yes that would indeed be common sense. However the reps flat out replied NO to that suggestion earlier.

seems majority here wants 1.0 repair system back.

Only way I could see dark matter actually useful is if used it would give bonus effect depending on grade like dark matter I 110% dark matter IV 160%. Also to add more depth have element resistance materia with Dark matter it will consume the materia and give the piece of gear the effect until the gear wears or you repair them at regular npc just my 2 cent on the matter.
