Titles? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

I've often wondered about this myself. Being able to display a title would be a huge boost, and would get people asking about them... Right now you can only see them if you examine, which is OK, but seeing them above player names would be great as well. With the option to turn them off. :)

I don't know why but every time I see this thread name, the first word just isn't what it appears at first ._. Anyhow I think it would be awesome to have the title on the nameplate in some way. It was in the original concept, so it should get put in eventually. Just like everything else that was mentioned in the road map, that we don't expect to see that randomly gets mentioned. Like off the wall things like dual mounts, that was mentioned but we never saw anything on until recently.

Any update on this I may have missed?

Yes actually. Displaying titles as part of a character's name plate should come in 2.28 or 2.3 (I think the former); they announced it during the last Live Letter.

Just to burst bubbles further, the little shields next to their names was how 1.0 displayed linkshell affiliations. Obviously linkshells don't have the same level of importance in 2.0 than they had in 1.0, what with free companies taking their place and linkshells being demoted to chat channels.

That image is a concept art on how xiv ui elements should look, and its a great concept art to look at. IMO 1.0 had so many great features and of course those features could never be seen on the surface because of the bad bad stuff on top.

Recently I was hanging out in Ul'dah, the Thaumaturge's guild and I remember 1.0 had a larger structure scale with buildings and character models. 2.0 brought the great ui changes and gameplay changes which is nice now but I sure do miss how 1.0 looked. Maybe you guys wont agree but a lot of the ui elements in 1.0 are nicer then 2.0.

Nobody mentioned the linkshell icons

I would say this was the plan, but because they wanted to cross platform PS3...the "limitations" is what brought them to our current graphics. But maybe we'll slowly evolve to this because they will drop PS3 support eventually and just focus on PS4/PC.
