LOL. The little rational criticism I've seen during the beta (or now, at that) has been and is drowned outby the crapton of irrational and vociferois criticism that not only doesn't help one bit, but suffocates whatver good ideas randomly happen to be expressed. The ones that hurt the game are some trolls with "pet" conspiracy theories that have no other purpose here than dropping contentless bashing and trying to spread FUD.
Luckily little easy elements tend to unmask them, like their signatures.
Ah, the little lovely trick of concern trolling. Your "pet theory" conflicts with reality. If Square Enix was intent in underfunding the game, they would have shown evidence of cutting costs, no evidence like that is visible. Quite the contrary, they're shouldering the costs of running the game making us play for free and they increased the size of the team, moving key figures from other teams to it.Quote:
EDIT: It's important to note that the current dev team may be doing all they can. My pet theory is that the game is woefully underfunded, and that the dev team needs more financial resources devoted to it in order to make the necessary changes.
That alone proves you wrong.
The only right thing you said (even if with a rather malicious intent) is that they're most probably doing all they can. Too bad you don't consider that even with more than sufficent funding and a big team they can't snap their fingers to make updates appear by themselves. Development, testing and localization times still exist. The only place where they don't exist is in the head of people that are utterly ignorant about game development, and that think that complex mechanics can be changed overnight and test themselves.
Considering that no other MMORPG before final fantasy XIV has been updated as fast (despite several changes in the development team in between that for sure didn't help them be faster), the above question is utterly laughable. Also, labeling polls simply as PR is definitely not that smart. Knowing what the customers want can't hurt, and has several degrees of utility (millions of companies do it, across several kinds of businesses). What matters is how such polls are filtered in the decisional process.Quote:
Therefore, it's terrifying to see SE grovel to the player-base and release these silly PR polls like we know any better than they do. Where's the vision? Where's the breakneck speed of content updates?
