I heard from a friend of a friend of a friend that after doing this you also have to hit the Start button. If you're using a mouse and keyboard, you're SOL with this method.

I feel so ashamed... All this time I've been doing up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, /sh+A, sh+B. :(

I went to central shroud at 1:00 (my time) and got the atma on the first fate (as pld). Switched to drg after the 3rd fate and on the 5th fate (as drg) got the same atma again (woo!) (all without a party) At 2:00 I went to South Thanalan and was no party for 15 minutes then in a small party for the next 30 (entire time as drg) and didn't get a single atma :( so I think their tests where more coincidence/super lucky

Using Local Time
I went to East Shroud and got it on first fate
Then the next hour (of course I waited for it) and went to East Thalan and got it on the 3rd fate.

I am simply saying, in my case, this is not accurate and that too many people have hope for this PURELY random system.

Maybe you should practice what you preach next time.

Claws come out? I never said I agree or disagree with the theory, all I pointed out is you debunking it with evidence that has nothing to do with anything. Like I said reading comprehension .

All I gotta say is that the Placebo Effect is a powerful thing. Might as well place your trust in Brony Friendship Sparkles, Unicorn Tears, and Faerie Sprinkles, they'll probably have about the same effect on your drop rate.

I got 11 of my 12 within 5 hours of gameplay, and the magical special time for the 12th was during an hour that I'm usually at work, so yeah, I kinda call BS on it.

The theory is about atmas dropping at certain times
My response is about how I got the atmas at different times than were listed.

yeah rng is rng i think. Some people on Leviathan were talking about it yesterday and it seemed to work for them but i just think it was random luck they were having or since i have absolutely no luck they got what i lack. lol

The speculation that it could be tied to a player's local (not necessarily server) time might not be that far off considering if you change your time setting manually on your machine it will 90k you from the server.

I tried this at 9:00 (MST) yesterday and on the first fate got the Atma of the Fish.

Update 1: Just tried this with Atma of the Twins and got it on the first Fate I did in the zone at 7:04 (MST)

Update 2: Skipped the Lion and Fish Atma's (already had them) went and did Twins, got it on the 4th or 5th fate at 10:24 (MST). Also got Atma of the Scales at 11:45 (MST) after 4th fate (spent first 30 mins in a dungeon); I think I'm a believer o_O
