That Lalas were originally allowed to live safely in Eorzea at one condition. They had to offer, each and every year, one of their childs to Miq'ote tribes.
The tributes were used as baits for the Ash drake hunt, but it was mainly a way to control the expanding lala population.
If, one year, a lala family was not "paying" the tribute, the whole lala family was then roasted alive, cooked, and served as dinner to each of the Leading members of the great F tribe.
Unfortunately this tradition that did live for four eras is long gone, and what my ancestors were fearing the most is now happening:
The lalas are trying to take the world over and will likely sell Eorzea to the Garleans for a pinch of salt... And then poop in their shoes.
