Changing Free Company Name

It is a shame really as can you also not change your name in this last patch?
Some Free Companies change ownership or just decide they no longer like the name so this really would be nice to have, i care more about this then personal housing even.

Yup. Bump this as much as you can. I just inherited a FC too and would love to change the name. I´m all alone in it, so it´s like my own personal FC :D

Another bump as i feel this should be addressed, name change is implemented so why not this as well.

My guess is that character name-changes are a little less "far-reaching" than FC name changes and so they were implemented first both to see what kind of effect it would have and also to see how well the idea of pay-for name changing was received. Using just my server as an example (I can't very well judge how other servers are) I would say that the Character Rename Service has gone over very well indeed and look forward (lol) to a Free Company Rename Service joining it in the Mog Station.

I inherited an FC and would love to change its common, boring name to something I actually had any say in picking.

This option has my vote. I've been trying to get a new FC going and gave some people a say in what we should name it, after we came up with a name, my possible petition signers bailed out on the FC at the last moment soon after I entered the name. Now I'm looking for new signers and the name might not fit with everyone. It would be great to have the option to change it just in case I come across new members who wish to have a few suggestions on what we could change it to.

I second this idea as then I could sell my FC house to someone who might want to actually use the FC instead of just throwing it all away and using the land.

Agreed and would of been much more simple then the Eternal Bond they just added, just saying SE.
We have long changed our FC tag in hopes of being able to change the name as we needed a fresh start as a Free Company months ago

Why would this have a far reaching effect? Isn't it just a name? Seems odd you can rename LSes (but not reorder them in your list somehow! annoying!) but not FCs, which are way more important.

I'm guessing here, but I would think that "far reaching" would have more to do with the tag elements of FC members, housing, items, permissions, GC rank, etc rather than what we would see as far reaching. They finally did it for character name changes, so I'm sure the tags are much more buried in the code for the FC's.
