I came here to say this.

You're not going to get the best results in this poll if you don't make choices with like buttons.
If I had any say in it, I would choose c.
Why? Balancing and PvP complaints are the biggest reason. I also fail to see in any way how PvP would help shape this game into something good. PvP boils down to a community fighting itself, and fosters poor attitudes as players try to prove themselves better than someone else.
I don't mind PvP in concept, but in reality, poor sportsmanship completely overtakes any fun it might be in my eyes.
I'm for controlled PvP that doesn't affect Pve. I would love to go see, how I'd fare in an arena just to get my pretty butt cheeks handed to me within seconds by someone with godly gear and skills :3 Also assuming earliest date for direct PvP somewhere around fall 2012.
I would pick (A) but thats becuase the pve in this game is weak at best.
Nothing of that sort has been announced.Quote:
It's been recently announced that PvP will be implemented and possibly might play a major roll in end game and/or ranking up.
Major role in ranking up?
Where did you get that from?
Lets not have PVP and be done with it.
Option B please. Open world PvP can be frustrating and having no PvP is absolutely absurd (and selfish of the PvE only babies). It should be team-based as well, not no coliseum 1 vs 1 scrubbery. People fail to consider that PvP actually brings the community closer. Made a loooot of friends on FFXI through ballista, both NA and JP. The people who brag and make asses of themselves are usually the ones who aren't ACTUALLY good at PvP, and there are very few of those to begin with. Grinding the same enemies gets old but PvP doesn't when you have a real human being that can think for his/herself as an opponent. Naturally, PvE and PvP should be balanced separately just like in FFXI. I think they nailed ballista pretty well with 60 caps but failed at making it accessible or providing ample rewards, which is what they should work on in FFXIV's PvP.
So yeah key points:
1. Team oriented
2. Objective based (not hurr who gets the most kills)
3. Balanced seperately
4. Accessible
5. Good rewards
