More Diversity with Mounts

Personally, Id just like them to be faster. Its a little offputting when your character can sprint about as fast as a Chocobo can run. Wouldnt even need to be that big of a boost ... at least maybe 30-50% more. I think the diversity of mounts is fine though at least for aesthetics.

As far as special mount abilities, I dont see why not. Though it might give favor to one mount over another if say one can glide and one can sprint. SE might not like that.

Different abilities are a neat idea, however, Square did mention that the only difference in mounts will be the looks. They don't want people thinking they need to get a specific mount and never use any of the others.

I'm currently using the drake mount as it uses the least space on my screen by being close to the ground :p I try to collect them all, though, cause OCD >.>; but I too dislike huge ones that often run into my camera just as I'm about to click on a NPC or an object /tableflip

Personally, I'm glad the mounts are just mounts and not mounts with special abilities. Mounts are, in themselves, a special ability so making them even more special strikes of unfairness and Square's MMOs have rarely been unfair for one group over another. XIs raised chocobos are no different. Yes, you could make them faster than rentals but anyone could do that, color was just for vanity. If anything, mounts should be customizable with dye, sense permitting.

I do wonder what use we will have for airships. If it's travel, by free flying well be able to get from point A to point B in 10 seconds cause Eorzea isn't really that big even on foot. That's 9 seconds slower than teleporting @____@; I'm hoping for aerial zones and battles and floating cities. Getting flashbacks of my time in Allods now :x
