You pretty much sum up everything.I can't believe people are thinking gear will help them to make it easier.T4 is more than ok with a i73 lvl items without any problem.Sure you'll need a BLM you can't go BRD+2 MNK you'll run out of TP and not enough aoe damage but with a correct team comp it's really ok.
Too many times i see people assume ilvl = skill. I join extreme parties in party finder requiring i80 and it's a bunch of wipes. I do stuff as dps and outdps people who outgear me. I've been sticking with people that I've seen showcase their skill lately, but unfortunately we aren't all on at the same time every time lol. Just gotta take the good with the bad so you can find those gems (aka skilled people).
As a healer its not only your gear which needs to be considered.
i80 on a healer is enough to heal anything around atm, providing the tanks are well geared and know how to self mitigate.
Basically this. I run T4 with friends but not a static and my friend always puts i84+ in his PF notices. This is because most of the parties we've been in to do T4 with lower ilvls can't even clear the first dread's DPS check. Then we'd spend an hour wiping before deciding to call it quits. When we started PFing higher ilvls, most of the time we end up one shotting T4.
Couldn't agree more, sure T4 is doable at ilv 75 but chances are a PF group at that average level is going to fail. You really have to have the organization and cooperation of a static to get it done at lower levels. In other words the players will have to be nearly perfect. PFing in the mid 80s just gives you an extra insurance that at least the gear won't be an issue. Not sure about you guys but every PF group i've been in for extremes or higher coils has at least 1-2 people who are new or just "following"
been running the math and found out the amount of ilvl 70 stuff i'd have to replace to get to ilvl 84...well there just isnt a quick fix
