PS3 Controller Hotbar problems

Yoshi did something in 2011 with gamepads that completely made me quit the game until it was fixed. It was Gamepad target filter. The initial concept of filter was using up and down on the D-pad to change filter, making it absolutely impossible to target pt members from the PT list.

Yoshi is at it again with this "stiffness". I swear this is making me not want to play right now. I'm a healer this is a problem for me.

This worked for me also.

This did ~not~ work .. i thought it did. I used Stoneskin and there wasnt a lock but with bulwark there was a lock. SE should address this asap imo.

System>Character Configuration>Hotbar Seeting (tab)> Cross (page)> Set Selection: Enable auto hotbar switching when drawing/sheathing weapon.

(make sure you select "apply" at the bottom before exiting the window)

Beside this problem can they remove the ground targeting change for controller, I really have no idea what are they thinking, locking ground targeting for controller to the cursor, when I would think that controller use would play without having the cursor around.

So they want us to use a mouse and controller at the same time? I know it can be disable if I don't want to use it, but even when you disable it, if you use any skills that required ground targeting, the mouse cursor would still appear. A better ground targeting would have it default to your current target but still move able, or just revert back to the previous ground targeting, its better than the new one.

This option should only be given to KB+mouse players and not gamepad players

Oh boy...I'm a little scared to check out the changes now after reading this thread. I main a monk and all my main skills are on the first hotbar, but I have a lot of important stuff on a second like invigorate and mantra. I can't imagine what you healers must be going through.

I have yet to check out the patch, but this thread has me really worried... the cross-hotbar was fine and working great SE... you didn't need to change it! Don't add delays to things that didn't have delays previously and screw people over!
Also, the patch notes had me worried about the changes to ground targeting, that sounds stupid, too. Ground targeting was fine the way it was before...

Read the patch notes last night and wondered wth they were thinking. Just from reading the patch notes, I could see this was going to be a disaster.

Also, did you see the part where they gave kb/mouse users access to cross bar? Really?

Dev post on JP side already acknowledged that this is a major bug I think.

yep this is pretty much making my SCH unplayable. i cant even target pt members until my spell is finished casting, this bug is making an already difficult job on the game pad 10x harder. just tried to heal an ifrit x and the delay got me killed because my aetherflow didnt go off like it was supposed to and i had no lustrate stacks to heal myself with.

thanks SE, i can tell you guys tried, but damn you guys need to step your game up with this shit

I'm having this problem, too. Just tried to do a treasure hunt on SMN and got one where it spawns 1 boss + 2 waves of four adds. I got the first wave of adds and could not switch over to my pet hotbar to change its attack. I ended up having to Physick burn myself to stay alive. It got extremely ugly for a fight that should have been complete cake.
