This design philosophy becomes painfully clear when you look at XIV's housing system. When I think of MMO housing, I think of an opportunity to individualize, to create, to explore a range of options, to build things not seen before, to show off the extent of your design powers and your achievements - but that's exactly the opposite of what we get in XIV. The entire system is not only blocked off by a massive paywall (so far - who knows what it'll be like for personal housing), but it's shackled by extremely limited customization. Your large house is going to look just like the large house of someone else, plus or minus a few decorations. Exploration and creativity not wanted. :/Quote:

I asked this in the other thread. Someone mentioned something about a “blue foxhide” I think it was. I also heard talk of other extremely rare mats from maps able to be used for vanity gear and/or housing. That’s something I’ll look into.
In addition to crafting, there are new weapons available on the marketboard along with some potions I’ve seen. I’m a level 50 alchemist, but cannot find these in my crafting logs.
Can anyone offer insight to this? -

Say what you will, they always continue to astound me with their knowledge of lore and execution of events. I don't roleplay myself, but I have to admit that they have a lot of creative ideas of things to do involving the game's structure. I'm also not recommending that you roleplay or not to entertain yourself, however if you want to see some interesting ideas about the game, it wouldn't be the worst place to look.Quote:

I enjoy this game, but I can see why we have all the complaints we get. If they feel like there isn't much to do, then that's just it. And there's no changing their mind. Many of the ones posting that disagree with the OP came into this game expecting the elements from the previous update to still be intact at least to some degree. I picture it as building a house from a previous foundation and that house is wonderful now but it needed a little but more work. As that work was occurring someone else entered and removed all that made the house wonderous and decreased the size. Instead of a 6 bedroom house we're left with one door, no bathroom and a bedroom adjacent to the kitchen.
People find things boring OP, when I played a game called White Knight Chronicles, I found that mind numbingly boring. The game was a huge grindfest that had nothing to offer in the end. While I felt that way there were guys like you who found enjoyment regardless. But those same people could never change how I felt about the game. Which brings me to my next point.
Until SE, addresses these complaints this thread will not accomplish a thing. Other than people expressing the same thing over and over. I know what you want to see but you just cannot change a persons feelings or convince them of what isn't there to them. If you actually sift through their complaints you will find hidden gems of legitimacy. I say this again as someone who enjoys the game. They don't want to do the things you want there's nothing here to fix their boredom and a lot are posting on borrowed time.
All I can hope for is that some of the suggestions posted get listened too. I think we all deserve to enjoy games we like. This game should have more appeal/things for people to do who are bored. -
