Are there videos of the old 1.0 DoL/DoH quests? I capped DoW/DoM in 1.0 but I didn't touch crafting and gathering so I missed these quests and their associated paraphernalia (including star-spangled subligar ; ;).

Why must you bring up old pains.
This is a nice little playlist
Because if I don't, I feel like I can't help inspire square to bring them back to their former glory. I want Square to know that I miss my awesome Lala's and you miss their sister (as is plane as day by your sig XD)...and as I can see, I'm not alone XD
Yyeahh and that building has no shadow at all. 2.0's lighting is leaps and bounds above 1.0's (it actually has dynamic lighting and shadows).
Those textures and models in 1.0 were pretty, but I really don't notice the difference from them and the 2.0 ones so much outside of cutscenes. Some of the scaled down clothing textures do make me cringe, though (that Roegadyn NPC's shirt from the CT storyline...).
But then the quests wouldn't fit the script that nearly all the other quests have:
Get me X number of things.
This guy/girl doesn't like you for [Reasons] and or your guild leader doesn't like you for [Reasons]
Work with this guy/girl that doesn't like you for [Reasons] and bring me X number of things.
Make peace with guy/girl that doesn't like you for [Reasons] and bring me X number of special things.
You are a winner, number one. Everyone loves you.
I was more speaking about the characters and gear specifically. Individual object lighting was great, mostly in part to the high res speculars, but you're totally right about dynamic interaction. Nothing really effected anything else.
I'm sorry though, I'm leading the conversation off topic. Back to the (l/h)and quests. My guess is they simply didn't have enough time to commit to making particularly strong storylines for ARR. The characters are fine for the most part, but shoving the old craftsmen to the side ultimately seems like pointless busywork. None of the new folk have much in terms of overall relevancy or impact outside a few gimmick in mannerisms. Then again, I am only speaking as someone who only just completed all the level 30 hand and level 35 land quests, so take what I say with a healthy dose of salt.
Well at least we can agree the 2.0 Carpenter quests are better *laughs* *side glowers at those damned kids*
I was in love with the 1.0 Goldsmith story... I was so very joyful when we got to see a small continuation with the F'lhaminn quest (Getting her earring fixed) but its not quite the same.
I hope future mail moogle quests see us revisit characters like the Twins.
I feel like I missed something wonderful...
