I was 30 STR for a long time until I went to Coil then I started swapping but now that I have the gear to balance it... back to 30! Out of defiance WAR DPS isn't going to beat an equally geared dps anyday, but it isnt PLD shitty. I don't use the crafted melded stuff (mostly because im cheap) but for playing around with damage I use the STR Darklight jewlery, I mean this post is about 3 months late. Having ~7500 hp is fine for most things and allows you more options then trying to be a PLD type tank (passive to reactive).
While the current War is a lot better while stacking STR (outside of getting 1shotted). 1200 HP Buffed Second Wind. 3000 HP Inner Beast. 600+ Steel Cyclone etc. It will probably be more like PLD in 2.1 where the majority will only stack VIT. It was amazing the extra STR did make for WAR and it's HP recovery. Too bad it didn't work out.
I love how this thread Derailed into a Twintania fight arguement... Thats not the only fight in the game!
I have had no issues tanking in 30 Strength points as a mostly iLvL 90 Warrior. (Missing Boots, and 3 accessories)
I have yet to try Tanking Turn 4, but my group never even fight Double Dreads, so that wouldn't be a problem for me to MT.
I do not MT Turn 5, nor do I want to yet. My Paladin can't do it either. 6.3K Buffed HP is not enough.
For everything else in the game though, my entire FC, and Friend list prefers that I tank as my Warrior, because I deal a far greater amount of Damage than a Vitality Paladin, and our runs go much faster. (WP Speed runs are about the same as with a Paladin)
