They do that so new players can catch up faster, by the time 2.1 is released everyone should be fully decked already.
So I still fail to see the problem with that.

Don't mistake my opinions as simply trying to bar players from accessing content, CT was supposed to provide gear to do BC and Myth gear are supposed to be an alternative to that but at the cost of being slow and tedious.
This does not limit new players to content but allowing them to get top level gear easier and faster certainly does us no good.
Yes, CT will provide players with gear that is lower tiered than coil loot, which is totally fine. Increasing the tome limit doesn't spit in the face of players who capped out at 300 every week, because you're also allowed to hit that 450 limit, still putting you ahead of them. All this does is allow for more tomes to be acquired at one time. Everybody wins.
The problem is that it messes with gear progression paths, currently it is AF > AK/WP > DL > CT (supposedly) > BC/Mythology
but making it easier and faster to get Mythology gear makes it AF > DL > Mythology or even AF > Mythology
I'm not against players getting gear easier and faster but certainly not the top tiered gears
Players who farmed AK pre 2.1 for Mythology will take 1 month longer than players in 2.1 for 5/5 Mythology gear
a 1 month difference is rather significant
I just feel that highest tiered gears should not be easily and quickly attainable, it should require significant amount of time and effort invested into it.
In that case the problem doesn't even lie in the weekly cap that is being raised but the whole token system itself.
We get i90 gear from tokens, if it's all about progression it should not be higher than 80 to do coil with and gear there.
The cap itself is not the dealbreaker, now I can start gearing my second class faster and new players can catch up quicker.
We should collectively get away from this mentality. Changes to gathering exp = spit in the face of everyone who capped miner/botanist/fisherman. Changes to drop rate on turn 1 = spit in the face of everyone who went weeks on weeks seeing nothing but DRG belts. Changes to relic quest in 2.0 = spit in the face of everyone who grinded out a relic in 1.0
Lets apply this mentality to actual life: Institution of email = spit in the face of everyone who had to mail an actual letter. We all deserve reimbursement for all of that postage.
Institution of cars = spit in the face of anyone who saved up money to buy and maintain a horse.
Institution of cell phones = spit in the face of anyone who had to drag the kitchen phone with the really long cord into their bedroom just to have some privacy.
Institution of a polio vaccine = thats a spit in the face of anyone who had polio! WTF
For my opinion it really does matter on how the myth is arranged in the content. If it's still going to be 100 myth per run now you just need to run 5 more times per week I can seea hst of problems including this hypothetical scenario. ready?
So guy has been running his runs in a free company to try to keep up with the other guys, he's making cap on Sunday to "keep up with eh Jones". Now this guy still makes his 300 or 340 whatever by Sunday but he's now falling further behind. It's not a stretch of the imagination to think this guy might become frustrated over the course of a few weeks and finally give up and quit.
If the myth numbers for all the current and new content are adjusted to match this new weekly scale THEN it will simply mean faster progression thru endgame for everyone.
This stuff is the highest tiered for now. Thank god this game isn't following the way FFXI did gear and making this stuff the best stuff ever for years to come. We haven't even seen a level increase yet. Players who farmed tomes pre 2.1 will still be ahead of players who farm after 2.1, because they already have their items they bought. Instead of taking 3 weeks to buy a body piece, it'll now take 2, across the board.
You also make it sound like farming the same dungeon for an extra week makes that gear so much harder to obtain... You beat Amdapor Keep 8 times. You can't honestly consider this an accomplishment worth complaining about...
