It's both. The trailer definitely showed cutscenes so there appears to be a main quest chain to explain the event. Meanwhile there will be event-related fates as well.

I hope this Fate somehow not going to be like behemoth or Odin where players can't actually even see target :()

Oh just don't heal her or fight off the monsters attacking her then we'll be fine :-)

I happen to like lightning

I wish they were able to get Vanity system going with it. Won't really be able to enjoy the drops if they are for only lvl 15ish.
