My friend was hacked while logged in

RMT runnin wild! No doubt it will only get worse as we get closer and closer to 2.1 and the gil sink that will be housing.

Anyone lose money off of their retainers or is this just what you have on your character?

Yep. And stupid people will still continue to buy gil and fund things like this.

Bumping to help get this thread attention, I hope anyone affected will get Gil back.

If it's a RMT hack it's pretty darn ingenious. Why bother hacking people when you can just hack the game. I sincerely hope SE makes every effort to get people their gil back because in any case it is completely their fault and I'm not sure the decade long apology(We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience) they've been using is going to cut it this time around.

You might also have given the hacker backdoor remote access to your computer somehow. That seems more plausible than just missing gil while afking in game.

And dozens of people did the same thing in the last few hours?

Yeh I was in limsa plaza, Everyone was hit with the insufficient gil funds error msg roughly within the same time period, 6 people i know - thier gil is gone, yeah and all above the million gil mark. I got it several times while crafting. I think that was them trying to do the trades\hack when most of us didn't have the gil, then others with enough gil got hit by it.

So it's not even safe to log in anymore , and not a word for SE ? :D

Hasn't happened to me yet (only 350k in my possession) but man if this is indeed going on (from the amount of ppl affected I assume it is) SE needs to take the servers down until they fix this critical exploit/bug/hack and remove the Gil from whoever ended up receiving it.

Can we confirm this only happen to ppl in limsa?
