30 hours later, Wish I could get a refund

What boggles the mind is that no one at Square had the foresight to say "you know what? I bet no one will run these low story events more than once if we don't provide some type of repeated incentive". I really love the game but there are so many things like this that are totally wrong the only answer is that they rushed the crap out of it. Just hope enough people are around to see the finished product a year from now.

Make sure you check all 4 languages in the Duty Finder when you start the queue, it significantly speeds up the wait time.

Honestly, from what I keep seeing and reading, they expected players to be more considerate. As near as I can tell it keeps boiling down to the fact they they like to help people, and assume others will be the same way.

Whenever I have the time, and am just leveling, I will queue up as a healer for the story primals. And then go back to what I am doing. If it pops I will join in. But it seems I am very much in the minority here. I don't see why I should require an incentive to help other people.

I love to help lower level players in my FC. I remember being there. Get in a FC and ask for help. MMOs reward making friends and teamwork. Its hard to go it alone.

The problem is both on SE side and the communities side, SE for not really providing much incentive to re-do story group quests, and the communities for mostly preferring to take the more 'glamorous' jobs and leave the heals and tanking to those that do bother... that is why as a healer I was in a group for Ifrit in seconds, literally and I bet tanks can hardly breathe near that join button before they are dragged into a dungeon.

I cant sit and gloat mind you, I initially set out to make a heavy DPS flame mage type and accidentally ended up in the healing role but decided to stick it out... quiet happy I did now but I do understand the lure of DPS and the freedom from tanking or healing, just do what you do best and let the tank and healer worry about the details.
Why should I re-do the Ifrit story dungeon ? No reward, is a pain if the group doesnt know about the nail or mechanics, tanks are squishy at that level...

It is a problem. :P I wish more people were kind enough to go back and help, if needed.

That being said, if anyone on Coeurl needs help, feel free to find me in game. If I'm not in the middle of something, I'd more than likely help out. :P

The way they presented the game systems, and the way it was back during the beta, was that people spammed the DUNGEONS to get xp. This meant that you could count on getting folks to run dungeons with from the other people getting xp. FATEs at the time gave nice xp, but it was just if you were lucky to catch one spawning near you. Folks hadn't yet figured out that running as a party pooled everyone's contribution together, or that you could run around a smallish zone from FATE to FATE with nary a break.

I honestly feel that the way FATEs are run now is not how the game was intended. That's why the system is the way it is.

The problem here isn\\'t even one of incentive. Incentive is just one of the possible fixes.

Story mode primals were completely off my radar until I decided to level another character through the main scenario. I got to the ifrit fight and it suddenly dawned on me that there was very little chance of me getting a group through the duty finder.

Another way they could fix this issue is adding ifrit, Titan and Garuda to the 20, 30 and 40 hunting logs for every class. But honestly, giving real incentive for these fights is the best way to make sure newer players can still get this content done.
