The game just came out...people are always in a hurry for more when its still new.
What got me to take a break and not want to level was the lack of quests. I'm a big quester and really you run out of available quests really quickly and most of them are kill X of Y style and they're really not that interesting.
I completely understand how many classes there are but that's not for me i have always played one class and thats the bottom line
And I'm not alone in that like i said before there is a lack of end game content from release
No pvp
Only 2 dungeons
1 raid
I guess this is just a level all the classes kind of game wich kinda sucks cuase its a good one
Nothing to do!
(except for all the stuff to do, that you just don't want to do)
If you'd give gathering or crafting a try, you'd probably really like it. I know quite a few people who got hooked on fishing, to the point where they basically abandoned their main class.
if it doesn't give me better gear then its not content!
To people advising to do things other than DoW: I have. I got my Scholar to 45, and leveled Goldsmith, Alchemist, and Miner along with it. I'd alternate every 5 levels, making sure they were all at the same level. At level 45 Scholar, I stopped leveling it and focused 100% on my Crafts and Miner. I got Goldsmith and Alchemist to 50, Miner to 50, got my Luminary Pick (in three days), leveled all the crafts to 15 that I hadn't already done (about 3), leveled CUL to 37 for Steady Hand 2, geared out my crafts and Miner, made a few sets of 1 star gear, stocked up on Gold Ore and Darksteel Ore, crafted my Scholar/Summoner both weapons I'd need for my Relic quests, made my own materia for it as well.
All that took about a month, the part after my Scholar got to 45 and leveling my other classes took about a full week. I then leveled my Scholar to 50 off dungeons, by which time I had enough tomes for a Vanya chestpiece. I then got Garuda's weapon, melded some Vit materia, and beat Titan on my second day as a 50. I got my Relic weapon in a day and a half. Now just knowing there are only two dungeons to run to get the required 19,125 tomes I need for a full set of crafted iLvl 70 gear (I hate Darklight, and refuse to wear it. Except the pants, because Vanya costs too much) is stopping me from playing. Farming the same two dungeons over and over for months is not my idea of fun.
So what do I do until there is more content, so I don't go brain dead mindlessly farming AK and WP? Level a craft you guys say? Done that. Level a gathering class? Well, that is done as well. Get an achievement? I got my Luminary Pick already, that's one hell of an achievement for Mining. Level another class? Well, okay, I can try. I already have a THM to 26. I guess I could... What, farm FATEs until I hit 50? Because I sure as heck can't queue for dungeons as a DPS, because it is like a 40 minute queue. Oh joy, farming FATEs.. With the end goal of hitting 50, which I don't really want to do, because I'll have the same problem I'm having on my Scholar - lack of endgame content.
So go ahead, tell me I'm rushing. Tell me I'm "ignoring the other content". I have been to every zone, done almost every FATE, leveled DoW/DoM, DoH AND DoL. I've gone for achievements, I've helped friends level, helped them with 50 dungeons, and helped them on their Relic quest.
I really did enjoy this game. I had a blast leveling my first to crafting classes and never thought I'd get back to my combat class because it was a ton of fun. I enjoyed leveling my Scholar. But now, there's not much left for me to do.
i'm a casual player playin 10-12 hrs/week and i'm still not bored.
finished first relic and about to start coil.
i can understand the hardcore gamers tho who can play 30+ hrs a week...
i guess the game is not very attractive for them at the moment.
but in any case even i refuse to level crafting and gathering classes as long it's so f*cked up with all the hackers and bots.
You've got 4-6 weeks until 2.1 comes out with a ton of endgame content. Then in February (or March) patch 2.2 comes out with even more...
If they keep the every 90 days (or so) releases of content, 2.3 (including Gold Saucer) would be late May to early June.
Most of my friends have quit because of having nothing to do it. It sucks, but alas, grinding the same dungeons/leveling other classes/crafts is just not for everyone. Personally, I plan to level each class to 50, gear up the ones I enjoy the most and probably work my way through crafting while I wait for new content. I'm not hellbent on raiding, I quite enjoy doing just the mundane things in the game.
