Monk's are by far the best DPS to work with once they have the class down. My favourite DPS class. Anyone who is dismissing them are missing the point. The entire job system is balance. You shouldn't be comparing melee to ranged, because they both serve a different group purpose. The best teams have both. All ranged just never works well, and all melee can work, but not well either. (Actually given the choice I would choose all melee, but it still dicey). Now I will say Archer is easy mode. I mean, super super easy mode. Whereas PGL has proved to be one of the hardest classes I have tried.
And if a BRD is "doing it right" they'll destroy you in damage. Good examples uhh... any mob with an aoe attack centered on itself or player. Titan HM is 'much' faster with BRDs for DDs as they can continue to damage the boss while dodging bombs/plumes etc. There's simply no way a melee DPS is going to compete with a BRD. The demon wall in AK is another example. With repels and such, no one is going to beat BRDs. In fact, most PUG BRDs can kill the wall before the bees even spawn (without even using a LB obviously).
Any fights with adds where you need to switch targets, BRD is also going to pull ahead. They don't have to run back and forth between mobs. They just need to switch targets. Basically, 90% of the boss fights in the game favor BRD, not to mention trash mobs which you can engage as soon as the tank pulls (assuming they don't suck).

Problem with Turn 2 ADS silencing for monk is that it loves doing high voltage immediately following an AOE like repelling cannons or ballast. There is normally consistent timer for the nodes doing high voltage but transition phases when ADS is gaining abilities throws off the timer for him so it makes it harder to stay in opo-opo form for it(can only stay in that form for 12s).
bard only needs to smash ur face into the keyboard and u get a rotation with high dmg...meanwhile as a melee u gotta follow a long *** rotation, while u dodge and move around when something pops up.
oh and thats not counting the side attacks and back attacks...that if for some bad luck or lag...the boss move just a little bit u miss the attack buff and u gotta redo everything again since rotations are tight.
