There are a few things I have a very very hard time with as a tank.
1: I shouldn't have to mark targets in a 2 pack... it should be pretty obvious which one I pulled first
2: If targets are marked and you attack something else
3: running off to get a chest, aggro stuff you don't have to, and then come die on me with it to wipe the party
4: if you pull hate and run AWAY from me
5: if you're constantly changing my marks (I'm usually only using <attack1> and <attack2> you have plenty to chose from)
Things I don't really worry about:
- if a DPS pulls... just come stand by me I'll take them off you
- if anyone pulls hate and runs back toward me
- if you use CC / break CC
- if you do AoE dmg / AoE DoT
Everyone has their own way that they run things, I get that and I'm pretty easy going. But if you want to toss lip at me, I don't have to sit there and take it. Twice over if it's because you hurried / didn't pay attention.
Tank mentality.

That said, there is a lot of tanks that do that, so much so that I can hardly stand not playing on my tank to avoid them. Just last night a friend of mine wanted to do Garuda HM. I came as my newly 50 Bard for a change of pace. When we entered there was a relic Pld MT, and an Ifrit War OT. The relic Pld asked "Do you know how to OT?" the War replied "Do you know how to MT?" which led to a huge argument which concluded with the Pld stating "I don't even need this run, I have a relic, I'll just afk." and the warrior following with "I got all night."
Way to to ruin a 20 minute wait over an epeen squabble fellas.
It is constantly a problem in DF when I join as anything besides a tank, but never a problem when I join DF as a tank, cause you almost never see DD or healers doing that. -

Why are tanks dicks?
Except for Titan HM, it's basically universal that groups need tanks more than tanks need groups. Tanks know this and many don't hesitate to exploit this fact.
By and large, there's no incentive for tanks to be nice to or stay in bad groups because they can get another at the drop of a hat. Since incentive drives behavior, it's not shocking that the lack of any incentive to be nice/friendly means that many tanks aren't.
Couple that with a job lacking in glamour, and it's not surprising. Tanks don't get to put up big numbers or drop clutch heals. If they're really good you basically shouldn't even know that they're present. Acting like a prick is one way to vent frustration with being taken for granted when things go well, blamed when things go wrong, and rarely ever appreciated. -

but i always thought that Tank attacks First then Rest of the party follow's.
but when the heal just Jumps and runs ahead then i can't really help them out ;_; and ends up with blaming me :( -

It's simple the one we kill is marked, if you want to put your 300blm dps into something that's not marked then you can tank it.
Sure it would be 0 effort to provoke it back, but i'll do that once he's dead so the other players won't be bothered.
Then i'll proceed to pull the next pack so you can't get a rezz. I'm not gonna slow down my run ofc because you have selective blindness.
So yeah I might try to counter your annoying behavior with my own to make sure you don't pull that move multiple times, but verbaly getting mad? Nah, come on now. -

The only time I have been an angry, mean or even snippy tank has been in my first CM run, when I just didn't know the run at all, and neither did five other people. Six first timers, 2 DPS doing a speed run. They spent the entire time charging ahead, pulling everything, dying half the time and cursing out the healers for being, well, the usual things that are cursed. The rest of us were like "will you wait 2 goddamn seconds so we get an idea at least where the hell you are running to?" and "how do you expect us to know to not pull those mobs by running behind them if you go ahead, don't wait and don't say a word?" and other such understandable reactions. All we got was hateful trash talk and more screaming to skip all cutscenes. At that point, I declared war and made it a mission to let each cut scene play straight through to the last second because screw those two. I let them keep pulling whatever mob they wanted to and never lifted a finger to pull hate from them. One healer was more of a pushover and just took the abuse and caved and did their best to heal, but the other healer had had enough, like me, and took a stand to give them no aid whatsoever. It went on like this until we finished the run, which took about 90 minutes overall. And any CM run that lasts 90 minutes is just a joke.
That was my time where I was a jackass tank, and I don't regret it for a second.
Any other run, ever? Nope. I'm the happy tank. :) -
