You mean like people who rage at people in CM for watching cutscenes? Because running a story dungeon for the story impairs on their ability to do anything else for 5 minutes? Why queue in the DF for a dungeon just to have people yell at you for it? I understand its the best place for tomes currently but berating someone and now having the ability to kick them is going to get out of hand.

If vote kick is the only adjustment to duty finder and dungeons, its just going to make the problem worst. Really looking at the overall system, this is the least needed thing atm. The biggest problem with the duty finder is "join in progress", simply put its not worth it, you spend nearly as much time looking for a group in progress to join an empty or near empty dungeon that usually is missing a healer or tank that have already been waiting 30+ minutes for one. I finally got to the point that I don't even bother clicking the join in progress button cause 9/10 times it ends up being a fail for setting me up with a group. So now we already have this system where its hard to find extra members to replace someone who may of d/c'd or quit, but now we are going to add a method to remove members on the whim, ya that's going to help.

What we need is when joining in progress be able to see things like time left, how many are there already (like the duty status shows) and the option to continue waiting. Inside people need to have the option to wait or re-que with higher priority and of course simply leave. If they choose to wait, then for some sorta set time 5-10min they can't leave, god I don't know how many times I joined to see ppl running past to leave. Giving those forced to stay in for a set time and showing those trying to enter whats left would make "joining in progress" worth checking.

this is really the least thing we need. As mentioned already in this thread, it will most likely result into abused kicks and will not hit the real AFKers.
It's like they really wanna push the elitists even more and separate the newbs from the super high pros....

To be honest, if I'm in a group giving me a hard time for watching cinema scenes or some other form of actual "abuse" I'd ask them to vote kick me.. I don't want to be in that group anyway...

You keep telling yourself that. Then act like it doesn't matter when you experience it firsthand because it didn't happen to you.

It's the number 1 reason why the WoW community is the way that it is. Is a player underperforming? Then just kick them, dps are a dime a dozen, they aren't people - they're an expendable resource; a means to an end.

Where you used to have to run all the way back to a capital city to find another player for your run and it was easier to teach someone how to play than it was to find another player who wanted to come in for a group with a few bosses down.

This game isn't World of Warcraft. In wow you sit in queue for 15-20 minutes and complete a dungeon that takes 15 minutes to complete. In FFXIV, you sit in queue for 40 minutes and complete a dungeon that takes anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour+ to complete.

VKs are more about players complaining about everything under the sun than a player being such a detriment to a group that you cannot kill a boss within 3 or 4 attempts.

It is a needed feature in some capacity, but not with the accessibility some players desire.

Blizzard is probably the best company out there that owns an MMO. You can find that offensive, you can be annoyed by it, you can think that I am full of shit and that SE can do a better job than Blizzard, but I have been playing World of Warcraft since 2008, and the work these people do on the technical side is impeccable.

But these people say they do things about bots and wintraders. Then they make a sweep and end up banning a bunch of legit players, there are players always seeing bots and wintraders, submitting proof of their actions and nothing gets done.

Game has been plagued with gil sellers since like the first week of this game. You'll have to excuse me if I am a little unenthusiastic about the motion that anything will be done about it. If anything, it could serve as an almost empty threat to abusive players.

Meaning, disciplinary action could be taken, but probably will not be taken.

The best dungeon finder ever was in WoW, was when it first came out and there were zero restrictions in it's use. After running hundreds of dungeons with it never once did I find myself kicked, run into people "abusing it". I did see people that were wanting to just be carried, afk, or trolling kicked many times.

The people who are incapable of policing themselves are the ones who need to be policed. Votekick hopefully will tone down a lot of the bravado that comes from both sides, by which I mean elitists who scream at newbies and ignorant newbies who refuse to listen and instead spout profanities.

As a tank and a healer who queues CM/AK/Pr multiple times daily, I have across many players on both sides of the spectrum that will have to adjust their behavior or face getting kicked from groups. In the end, nobody wants to play with someone that is unpleasant. Most players can tolerate a humble newbie but will instantly flip a table at an ungrateful one.

I hope VK will be disabled if there's a first timer or if someone has never completed that dungeon. That way it will be use solely for the means of kicking douches. Else, please also provide us with Recount together with VK. I've been waiting to kick all those geared idiot dpses that probably does same damage as tanks my whole FFXIVARR life.
