Castrum grind might stop me from subbing

CM certainly does get old fast... I'm quite sick of it myself but I still keep at it for the gear :/ i'll queue CM ifrit and Garuda all at once while i craft, it feels like hitting shuffle. CM is the only one really worth it though in terms of tomestones but since the primal fights are short i dont mind doing them i might even get a weapon for a job i plan on lvling you know? since it's only like 10? stones i think for the primals.

Viable and efficient are not the same word. Someone doesn't understand the difference between "effective" and "efficient." It's a common problem for people who lack actual reading comprehension.

As for now, Castrum is the best place to farm for time vs effort. This is very bad. They should make Wanderer Palace drop the same amount 100 philosophy. Make both Aurum Vale and Dzemael Darkhold drop 50 philosophy. And bump Stone Vigil to 30 philosophy. This will balance out the options and people will actually do more lower level dungeon runs and at least have a bit of an options. We also need an alternative options from AK farm... Farming and grinding is not a new thing, most of us do not mind this, if we have 3-5 options of dungeons that are farm efficient. This way you can grind 3 of them or rotate all 5 for variety. It's not the grinding, it's the fact that there is only 1-2 options at best. Patch 2.1 better be a very good one....

You missed my post about how Praetorium speed runs are about as efficient as an average Castrum run. It's not the most ideal remedy, but you CAN break up the monotony of constant CM spam on occasion.

it is almost certain that they will add more items/dungeons etc but they will still be grindy :/ the philosophy doesn't change - do X to get loot, where x is repeatable dungeons/fights with either a token or drop rate.

it's pretty much why i was never into endgame stuff, because the race is not designed to end. just as you think you have finally decked out, new content is introduced and your ilvl80 gear is suddenly available via quests - upon which i could just clear the difficult content without al that effort although i probably need ilvl120 to clear the new ones. the cycle goes on.

lvl another class, gather, craft, and help people i guess. that's why we play an mmo right - for the community, not just bragging rights.

I agree they needed more viable dungeons for tome farming, but at the same time if you find a solid crew you can knock out Castrum runs in about a half hour. That is basically 3.5 hours of grinding per darklight upgrade except for pants and chest. Throw in the 8 obligatory AK runs for your mythology tomes and you really don't have to invest a ton of time for end game gear.

It's no better than CM though.

There are plenty of fun dungeons in this game; however the game makes you spam the most mindless 2 ones over and over again for philo tomestones. It's "hard work," but not challenging. In FFXI sure there were things I'd do over and over again in my sleep, but there were plenty of other things to do as well. If CM was as fun as Salvage people wouldn't complain. Instead it's less fun than Dunes.
