Personally i have 2050 SS and i'm not trying to get any more, i even switched my food to direct hit food now (also cause there is no high end SS food for some unknown reason, talking about the ones that gives 85 vitality the best SS food is on the top of my head 70) around 2000 seems like a good spot imo, after that i'm trying to balance direct hit/determination/crit somewhat equally.

Just want to say thank you too everyone on this thread and the constructive debates that takes place here. Its helped me become a more knowledgeable player on BLM. Between this game and medical school, I do not really have time to research everything but I am most thankful for all of the great information here.

Crazy how spell speed was around 1300 at the end of heavensward and now we are breaking 2000 at the beginning of stormblood.

It's worth a third per point compared to HW.

Is this due to the level increase or was it due to some number fixing on the devs end?

is blizz iv part of the single target rotation now or is it still mostly ignored?

Scales with level, I believe.
The higher your level the less each point is worth.
Might've had other minor fixes too, but we cannot discern all of that just from a quadratic fit of data points :(

It really is just a level thing. Levels 1-50, the base stat (zero effect) is what the character sheet shows. Starting at level 51, the base used for the stat effects and the base shown on your character sheet diverge. We can only guess as to designer intent, and I really wish the hidden value was somewhere not hidden, but one obvious effect is that food buffs don't have to go overboard. And when we talk about how much of a stat we have on gear, there are some ballparks that seem to come up in discussion a lot.

At level 50, stat base is 341.
At level 60, it is 858 (341/858 = 0.397).
At level 70, it is 2170 (858/2170 = 0.395).

To speak of 600 of a stat at level 50 is 600-341=259
To speak of 1000 of a stat at level 60 is 1000-354=646 => ~256 level 50 points
To speak of 2000 of a stat at level 70 is 2000-364=1636 => ~646 level 60 points

Why, if I didn't know any better, I'd say someone picked those values on purpose!

With SS and DH taking priority, will some BLM masters here take a look if this is the BiS for 4.05? Wanted to start planning for my creation consumption now that we are 2 weeks in.
