Worgen Helmets looks Horrendous, but thats because they just stretch it over the head and call it a day, same with the Tauren. 99.9% of armors look like they fell face first into it.

But ESO seems to try to make the helmets fit around the Argonian/Khajiit heads? idk I only played the game for a short time.

Now if you wanna see terror, look at helmets for Charr in GW2. I feel like theyre worse than WoW sometimes.

I actually like some of the headgear for charrs, but I do see what you mean...it doesn't help that charrs are literally necks...all neck baby

Super True. I would rather have the option to look like a doofus than not have the hat at all. For all we knew it might actually look good on Hroth/Viera!

To be 100% honest im happy you brought this up. Hrothgar can wear the Nier aiming hood and the current Tomestone hood right?

Yeah! We can wear the aiming and scouting hood from the Nier raid, as well as the tiny hats from the first tier. I think we can wear the Tomestone hoods too, but if they completely cover our face, it shrinks our head.

This might be a good thing tbh, theyre making new headpieces that can actually fit hroth/viera as new content comes out! Cus I know I saw the new dungeon tank helmet on a hrothgar and the Mnk/sam helm on a Viera. Im not sure how others feel though, im also scared that fem hroth wont be able to wear any of the helms from ShB. Alot of good lookin gear comes from the dungeons/raids.

I had a braindead moment today when I tried on a helmet in a dungeon and was like..."huh? why isnt it showing?".....and like 5 seconds later it hit me.....and I realised I need sleep.

the only thing that kind of worries me about a lot of the helmets that replace the head is that they're obviously not scaled appropriately. The helmets actually end up making hrothgar heads specifically look smaller than they actually are...which immediately makes me think of how uncomfortable my lion child is with his head stuffed inside of that helmet ;0;

Ronso are cooler- if Hrothgar weren't so hulky with tiny heads, large arms and lacking wrists with tiny pelvis' and actually stood upright- they might be more appealing. Dont get my started on their godawful kitten tails.

I love kittens and animals- but on something like a 7ft tall beast man- their tail should match their design.

They should hold a hairstyle design contest specifically for Viera and Hrothgar- but perhaps these things will be addressed once the gender counterparts are released? will be more than a year though as I presumed. Likely imho Viera and Hrothgar will never get the updates they need, and it will be another "let's put a pin in it" while other issues stack on top of it.

Other than how short they are (because lets be realistic, a tiger or lion's tail are actually very long), but something something physics interaction with their tails and the environment around them

There are so many npc hairs that players have been asking for for years, I dont really see how they need another contest. I would love lyses, hilda or rynes hair or variants of them.

I could say something something 'keep the NPC designs unique' but that didn't stop them from giving away Minfilia, Aymeric, Y'shtola and Alphy's* hairstyles so....


*on that note, do you get Alisaie's instead if playing a female character?

yeah that is the answer Im expecting but as you say, we got the other hairstyles so what is the holdup? And no you dont, you get alphies, but Im sure they will release alisaies too.... :P
Anyways it isnt clipping stopping them...since hildas and lyses are ponytails. I think rynes is coming though? Saw someone post somewhere that her outfit was coming so I imagine her hairstyle would come with it?

Viera/Hrothgar will likely not get any updates for another year or so after EW, if even at all. Why? Because the release of the male Viera and future release of Female Hrothgar- after the release of both, there might be a chance that the current state of viera/hroth will be addressed. I doubt it though.

It's been 2 years and literally no mention of anything. I felt that the announcement of male Viera was a slap in the face and blatantly ignoring the current issue with female Viera and Hrothgar's lack of new hair/fixing the inability to use the aesthetician properly.

But people are supposed to be excited about a male bunnies? Do they realize that they will probably be stuck in the same boat as female? They will not address this. They will do what they always do and just throw in new shiny things to keep everyone distracted. and each time the smoke clears, people are back pointing out the obvious lack of updates on the new races and then the cycle will continue. Keep making threads, keep pointing this out- there is a slim chance it will be noticed and something might be done, eventually... it's just obvious that viera/hroth updates are on the backburner to literally everything else. So, maybe when hell freezes over they will get some much needed attention? Sorry for the sarcasm but, I'm being serious as well.

well they have been rather silent for a longer time, but yoshi p has been more open about the issue these last interviews. he said they have (weekly) meetings and they seem to be working on it.

He is suddenly talking about it, so yeah, I would expect some news. Or else he wouldve continued being tighlipped about it.

Just realised that even the headgear that does go on viera usually still clips with the hairstyles being too puffy. One tiara sits really far out.....

I've waited for so long for any kind of updates on this... I'm not holding my breath for any announcements on this front in the livestream. This will probably come in an endwalker patch if we're lucky, or a feature for the next expansion. But I'd love to be proven wrong!



One thing that excites me is that they're thinking of adding all hairstyles for vieras. And that would mean male viera as well! I'm gonna be a male viera anyway, if I get all hairstyles I've unlocked I'd be over the moon! I'd probably never change race again.



The curious thing is that YP talked about this in the interview... but did that include hrothgar? Is there any chance they'd allow hrothgar not only to change their hair but have hairstyles from other races?? If they actually did that, I'd probably go back to being a hroth again. I changed to highlander some weeks ago because I really, really wanted to be able to change my hairstyle at will again. At one point you just get tired of being treated like a second class citizen. Give viera and hrothgar this ultimate hair freedom and I'm 100% sure many of the dissatisfied players would go back to playing them, myself included! At least I hope that's what YP wants to do from what I understood of the interview.


Hats are another problem... I don't think they'll be able to wear all hats. But maybe, with this restructuring of the new race's model (from what he said he is planning to do) they could make it so it's more hat compatible! It's exciting he wants to go so far as remaking the head models so it's compatible with more stuff. Also makes me think: if they're planning on doing this now, maybe male viera will already have this more compatible head shape when it's released? It would make sense, since it's stupid to be thinking about this now, release male viera with the limited head shape, only to fix it later.

Clearly it's not that simple.

I assume fur pattern has to be in the hairstyle slot to link into the "hair colour" and "highlight colour" palettes with each design technically being a separate hairstyle with the same basic shape but different highlight patterns.

There might have been other ways around it, but I don't think they're going to redesign the race now that it's been released and changing it might make people lose their character as it currently exists.

I just don't get the design choices regarding hrothgar hair anyway. SE knows how addicted the players are in their characters. And to be hones - playing a beast race doesn't mean that the hair isn't important :-)

Hopefully ALL hairstyles for viera are coming. I switched back to viera against my conviction cause I just missed my bun bun. But again not having so many hairstyles hurts a little. Normally I'm switching hairstyles at least 4 times a week, sometimes several times a day. I'm the aesthetician's best customer.

I'll try to get my hands on the newest hairstyle from zadnor chests then, cause I like it very much.

I would be very surprised if they add anything but more racespecific hairstyles to viera (and hrothgar). They obviously could, but they have already backtracked that they would so....
