Did something I haven't done in a while last night...left an expert roulette right after the first boss of Stigmascape.

Tank was pulling one group, then when they were at around 1/3 health would run to the next group. I was on RPR, other DPS was a BLM. The tank also would turn the boss so that the rear was always in the fire puddles. Decided to just drop after that and go do something else for a bit. Definitely felt like it was going to end up being a very long run that way(things were also dying quite slowly...)

Playing gnb actively this year after I dismissed it entirely after it's release, I can say that strat is only worth it with WHM. Superbolide is a "oh crap" skill, not a repeat usage like HG and making any healer that doesn't have a bene-like ability available right at the start is just making heals ironically spend time healing rather than dpsing.

I would know, I've specifically done this with all the healers as a gnb in level 81+ content and I got (rightfully) reamed by one of them. I can only say my curiosity was satisfied and I haven't done it since, even to whms.

EDIT: Now that I think about, bene-bolide for whm dps can still be a poor strat because if gnb bolides immediately on first pull, whm's 5sec holy stun (4sec on first holy, 1 sec on second) is wasted due to bolide invuln. To truly maximize, gnb would have to let the holy stuns go through, then bolide and believe me, this sequence I've rarely seen in pug.

Minmaxer elitist or no, just sounds like calculations gone bad.

In my experience the worse a player is the more salt they seem to have. If group I'm in can't get past a mechanic leading to somebody rage quitting 9 out of 10 times the first person to rage quit was the reason that party was failing the mechanic

Doma castle on SAM. Perfectly smooth first pull and then the tank and healer, with matching last names, left. Other SAM left me with the following:

SAM: sorry
SAM: backing out for a friend
SAM: have a good one o/
Me: ...

I'm debating adding people like this to my blacklist for wasting my queue. I'm sitting here before the colossus still waiting on a healer.

Be me, on an alt trying to get sch to 90. Queued up for leveling roulette, insta-pop but it's 4 min in. What could be that bad that the healer left?

I load in and it's the 83, they're at the first boss. PLD was vainly trying to solo it since the other two dps (dnc and blm) had eaten vuln stacks and died.
Rest of party respawns, I get to the boss line and was afraid to ask what happened, but asked anyway. 'Healer had stack marker, I stacked with them, we both died and healer left.'

Hmmm...

We try the first boss and it became apparent that something serious was going on. DNC never really used Standard Step more than once, nor any of their other stuff like Tech Step at all; BLM was doing their best impression of 'I'm not moving'; PLD was trying but seems all 3 had issues realizing how magnets work. Somehow the DNC survives with 3 vuln stacks before dying. I scrape them off the floor and continue to Broil and use my cooldowns. There's only so much band-aid stuff I can do as a SCH.

One heal carry later, we get up to the second boss and the DNC still has not bothered with using a majority of their kit. I watch and suffer in silence as both dps eat vuln stacks, mainly the DNC, even after running and jumping over to the pads needed to step on to avoid death. DNC once again dies in this fight.

One more heal carry later, we're finally at the last stretch, PLD does his PLD thing and mass pulls...along with Clemency'ing themselves. PLD if you're reading this, my fairy and SCH kit would like to have a word with you later.

We finally get through the trash (PLD randomly HG'ed the last 2 packs), we finally get to the last boss...and the DNC gets the mapping achievement...strange how they were 'new' and did not bother to ask about mechanics. Mechanics they've died to at least once per boss fight.

And mechanics they ate. The dnc ate quite a few easily dodgeable ones, and died to the chasing claws and nearly got the blm killed in the process for the dps check. We finally finish the last boss and it's been about 35m into the duty. DNC immediately bounces and the BLM was shaking his head. I'm fairly certain the PLD was doing more dps than the DNC based on buffs alone, and I have no idea if the BLM was doing good damage or not the whole time I was there.

I need an aspirin.

As a DNC main, this hurts the soul. Every time I see a DNC let Standard Step fall(even between pulls!) I die a little inside. It comes back so quickly to be able to use that you can use it once per pack, almost twice in most cases with DF groups, without fail - even when used midway through the packs life span.

GNB using superbolide immediately on pull sounds very bizarre to me.
If I tried this I'd probably pop a CD and use my self-heal and try to drag it out as much as possible and pop it right as I was about to die.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of healers will want to leap through the computer and eviscerate you if you use Superbolide for anything other than an emergency button.

My friend did that the other day when I was on SGE - "yo, what if I used Superbolide right now?" - and off he went. I was both incensed and amused. Also relieved he wasn't on his main job, DRK.

Using superbollide immediately - almost immediately on a big trash pull is incredibly effective. It's ten entire seconds of complete damage immunity, during the part of the pull with the most incoming damage. Between my self heals and whatever the healer is doing, getting HP back up before the immunity wears off is trivially easy.

The only reason I don't do it more is because I never know when a healer I don't know is going to have a panic attack over it.
