Next Job/Jobs Speculation

With that being said, they could find room to implement some of the base classes as fully fledged separate jobs with possible renames and weapons. Archer is renamed tl Ranger and reclassified with weapon crossbow. Conjurer renamed to Geomancer with weapon changed to Bell, etc.

I would actually love this so thief can become a proper job. I feel it can be different enough from nin.

You know, Limsa Lominsa still has the Musketeer guild signage everywhere. Even though the Machinist guild "is" the gun job. There obviously are NPC's that are gun-only.

Just because there are clues in the game, it doesn't mean they get in the game.

I have created, for my part, 2 original jobs (in french) before 4.0 which are the Meteorologist (Dps job, on the fr forum, they are in game !), and the Spacetime soldier (tank job, mix between Noctis from FFXV and Phantom Lancer from Dota 2).
I could try to post them somewhere in the En forum.

I'am confident SE can find original jobs which don't exist yet.

I sort of feel that this isn't the best example. Musketeer was originally supposed to be a class. Once Arcanist was added to ARR and had both SMN and SCH attached to it, it came with myriad of problems. I'm assuming that's why they scrapped Machinist coming from Musketeer completely because adding a standalone job is better than continuation of a class -> job system.

Musketeers are remnants of 1.0, just like the rest of the classes.

I like to think that the Jobs roster of Final Fantasy 5 is a good source for new Jobs.

This means that we could still potentially see the following Jobs:
- Blue Mage
- Time Mage
- Mystic Knight
- Mime
- Beastmaster
- Geomancer
- Dancer
- Chemist
- Necromancer
- Cannoneer
- Oracle

Berserker would probably be excluded, seeing as that Job has been mostly integrated into the Warrior Job.

I neeeeed a new healer class. Chemist, Dancer, Oracle. I'm down for any of those. Just give me something new and fun.

They could still put it in. I mean think about WHY you see both the Axe and the Gun everywhere. You don't see this combination anywhere else. My thinking is that at the surface it likely would have been the precursor class to Machinist, but there doesn't need to be just one gun job. The Garleans have Gunblades. There are at least 3 MCH weapons that are guns with blades on them, but they're not used as such I believe. They could also just put the musketeer class in as a "starts at level 1" class that has a different level 30+ job than MCH.

Not that I'm fond of guns (I'm not), but it seems like this was such a key piece of V1.0 storyline that just vanished, yet the remnants of it are in the game:

Go play the MCH questline.

That's where you'll find Rostnsthal and all the lore you'll need explaining what happened to the Barracudas.

Also Merlwyb is a really poor example of why we need another gun job since she's never usually used them like people would think.

Just like what others have said already, it's going to be a tank and a healer. They'll go for the ones that are popular demand but it also depends if it's relevant to the expansion.
People ask for Dancer and Blue Mage the most, then there's Chemist, Beastmaster and Geomancer.

As a tank I think Blue Mage can be one if they took the liberties. Another would be I think Mystic Knight.
For healers it's Dancer or Chemist assuming they'll use that name but whatever.
To make them more interesting, I think we need a (pure) magical-damaging tank and a physical-damaging healer that mainly debuffs.
