There's no need for anybody to make yet another thread. All feedback can be gathered here, regardless of what that feedback happens to be. I detest echo chambers and appreciate all contributions as a broad range of opinions is much more valuable than the same handful of posters reinforcing each others viewpoint.
Btw, there is a change.org petition with 5k signs, which is a lot. SE can also look at this to see how many ppl actually want male viera and female hrotgar

It's pretty embarrassing that there's such petitions in the first place, though five thousand isn't a particularly large number - especially accounting for how signatures can be forged. The only place truly worth posting feedback to the development team is here on the official site.
The problem with your comment is, even assuming they do hit record numbers, how much higher could they have been absent the gender lock? That's the thing you won't know.
I also struggle to see them hitting any new records unless they are successful at luring in refugees from other MMOs. The game's core formula is not changing in any way.
Why is it embarrassing? It's people asking for something. It's not even making an outrageous statement beyond "Hey, I want mViera/fHrothgar. Sign this if you do too!" Also, someone explained the whole numbers thing a couple posts back. I think it's valuable to look through their explanation. If 5K isn't a large number then a candle flame isn't a hot object.
It's a rather futile exercise because just about anybody can sign it. They don't even need to subscribe to the game. At least with their own forum they know they're dealing with people who actually sub to it.
Even though the Google poll being run on here is imperfect (because it suffers from the same issue in controlling who is taking it), it's still far better than that petition in terms of the precise feedback it is collecting.
