tfw when you have to take autohits as a whitemage from the 4.0 trial boss for 80% of the fight cause both tanks discovered they have a tankstance at the end of the fight.
We cleared but that was mindboggling

Don't even bother with people like that honestly. If you have the votes, you can kick anyone for any reason you want, and you don't even need to explain or say a word to them or anyone else about it. I do it all the time. I'm with a friend and some DPS is doing sub-10k damage in gauntlet or the tank can't keep hate or whatever the case is you bet your that me and my friend are booting the bad player and finding someone else. We're not even going to say anything to them about it because THAT is how you get in trouble, with the talking, not the with kick. Just boot them and move on, they will get the hint when they realize all the decent players are kicking them from parties.
This makes it sound like you don't talk with the tank about what they need to do? I make no comment on the DPS, but a little nudge towards "Mind using your AoEs a bit more to keep everything off the poor healer?" coming first hypothetically can't hurt.
Granted, if they still don't, then yeah. But booting for mechanical failure like poor tanking that should be easily fixable seems...Silly to me. May just be me.
Also, I had a strangely relaxing Castrum Meridanum run. I'm not sure the last time I've seen tanks single pulling in there.
So it's been a while since I went into DF for anything other than PvP, and, well... if you've seen me in this thread before you know that *I'm* usually the "tale" of the duty finder :p
I logged on when the new patch became available but for some reason my 490 healer belt was just... gone. My item level was too low for the new MSQ trial.
Tonight I finally ran the new trial but my brain is so tired from a very busy workweek that I ran away with a stack marker *blush*
I watched a spoiler free guide the other night and saw a stay away marker at the with the growing bubbles of doom phase so I yeeted myself to doom on autopilot.
No wipe, just a healer suicide.
Sorry to the Aether group that I was in a little while ago. Thanks for being kind about my unforced error.
The art of deflating a player's hype: A d/c story
Step 1: Let the player enjoy 5.3 lag free, d/c free.
Step 2: Let the player enter the 5.3 trial
Step 3: Wait until ready countdown gets to 0, then disconnect
Step 4: Cackle in a maniacal manner as player, who was wholly prepared to enjoy the fight scream in despair and cry in agony as the player attempts to connect back.,
Step 5: Finally reconnect, only to get killed
I mean, after that, I played smoothly but holy cow, was it jarring to just see that 9k error get slapped on my screen right when I was about to get into it.
Yesterday my Trial Roulette popped me into the 5.3 Trial. I went in as DRK and ended up off-tanking. Everything went pretty smoothly until we got LB3. At that point 3 of the DPS were down, and so was one of the Healers. The other Healer went to use LB3 to revive everyone when he got frozen by the boss's ice magic—he was only at about half HP at the time, too, so there was no way he was going to survive. So I threw TBN on him, and it landed when he was about two ticks away from dying. The shield broke, and he dropped down to <20,000 HP or so, but lived and was able to pull off the mass revive.
Got no comms, which was a bit of a bummer, but it felt really good to actually save us from a wipe like that.
Dear off-tank we had in Titania normal earlier today:
Please be a dear and put yourself to the SIDE of Titania if you're going to turn on your tank stance, voke and yeet hate off of the main tank. That way, the rest of us do not eat the cleave and immediately get nuked.
Signed,
Your healers and dps that can raise.
