Where exactly were you when I argued with some forum-users PAGES ago that they wouldn't respect the thread's intention with their belittling of other people's hopes...? ;<
You have tolerated THAT idiocy, apparently, but are now lecturing a few persons who are peacefully speculating about the physique of bunny-boys...?
We all can be glad when people add nice stuff to the thread instead of this exhausting "males-won't-happen-so-shut-your-mouth"-attitude, oi! °~°
Probably... argued with somebody too, or wasn't online on forum for a few days. Depends on how long ago it was. XD (What I mean is that I'm not inoccent in terms of off-topic messages either). And well, when I read last messages they didn't look like they were speaking about Viera for me, which is why I wrote that sentence at all.
Peaceful discussion is fine though, it keeps thread alive (and funny).
Actually don't mind me. I thought that topic moved from Viera to something more general. (Not that I'm innocent of writing non-related comments either).
...This thread is legit legit striving to attain page 1200.
WoW! This thread is still going on! Awesome! Keep it up and we'll win! Never give up and never surrender!
Just hopping in to note that I am still in support of Male Viera (and Female Hrothgar).
Just another post to show I'm still headstrong about having bunny bois and hrothgurls. And now with the release of the bunny suit, it has really reinvigorated hope for male viera! Willing to wait of course - all in due time with COVID and what not.
Just chiming in for my continued support for male viera and female hrothgar!
Whats this I hear about a bunny suit?
Cool! How do I get that? Gold Saucer?
Has there been any response from yoshi about this topic?

I have seen a few people tinkering pseudo-male rabbits and wanted to try that out myself. =U.U=
I just returned and have no idea what I'm doing. Some of my favourite spells have been removed as well like Protect...LOL
Seeing 5.25 bet we will see female hrotgar at 5.55 or 5.45. Seeing how little content this expansion is getting, and how rushed it feels ,can only hope it is so the devs can put male viera and female hrotgar at 6.0, which would make sense considering how little glamour they are adding
We'll probably see the Hrothgar Queen at the end of the relic quests in 5.5x, just like we saw Fran in 4.5 and unmasked Yugiri in 2.55. They always preview the female model of the new races first.
I really hope we see both in 6.0 but I disagree...we’re getting a ton of glamour these days between ishgard and maps and new dungeons, along with the occasional pieces in GS and events (granted the Valentine’s Day event was a big disappointment for hroth and viera ;-; ). Sure, the latest dungeon was yet another Shire recolor but the accessories are new models and they are very pretty, particularly the earrings imo.
Seeing the 5.25 content made me hopeful for the missing genders.
I think we are getting good glamour yeah, but less than heavensward and stormblood (at least what it feels to me, dont really know the numbers) and I really, really doubt they're teasing female hrotgar queen just not to show her, and if they show her then they probs have to release female hrotgar of the itnernet will burn lol. Can already see them using bozja to showcase female hrtos and the first/last trailer havign a male viera. The hype will be insane. Dosent confirm anything though so Im not gonna say its 100%, just seems very likely and Im more than happy to patiently wait
I'm really hopeful given the new content that we will see a male Viera / Female Hrothgar reveal. But more so due to this

The take away for me though is this line:
"I am aware of the desire to include a different gender of each of these races, but I’m afraid this feedback is not something we can easily incorporate. We are doing our best, but… that’s about all I can say now."
To me, it suggests they are trying to include them and at the moment it makes sense to not be able to confirm anything at this stage... if they are coming, we won't get a hard confirmation until the fan festival or an in-game reveal like Fran/yugiri. (Though i think these came after the Fanfest announcement)
Just to note: Yugiri's face was revealed after the FanFest announcement, Fran was revealed before. Fran was more of a tease towards the new race, while Yugiri had been a subject of speculation since her original introduction (she used a modified miqo'te skeleton at first, and I vaguely remember theories wether she was a lizardfolk or a burmecian-like race). I distinctly remember Fran's introduction was before because I took a bunch of screenshots and posted them online.
Nitpick aside: I like that he's still taking questions about that, makes it seem like they're aware of the interest even if it doesn't confirm anything one way or the other. :D
What worries me is how they are saying adding them will impact development across the board.
In case if they do add them - it impacts delevopment proccess right now already. They're stretched, and that's noticeable in different aspects. All the updates we're getting so far are good, but you can see they're obviously working on something else - be it ARR rework, or races completion, or something new for future patches.
I think they are referring to the adjustment of any equipment to fit each race. I think perhaps that is why YP has said these will likely be the last races. I suspect though that they have already factored in adding the other genders regardless. Incidentally, every job added will affect every patch going forward as it means creating another weapon for each new job. While I don't deny what they are saying is true, I think this is smoke and mirrors as any addition to the game will affect future patches - I think its more valid to view this as not able to do yet.
The important thing to note is that YP has acknowledged the desire for the missing genders, that it is still there. He says that he can say no more at this time on the subject which could be seen that they have made no progress and the situation is the same, or that they are working on them and will announce them when the time is right. The important facet is the acknowledgment that A the feedback has been given and received and B they will try to incorporate it despite it being hard. The "We are doing our best... but this is all I can say now." is structured oddly, and on a grammatical front, the elipse suggests there is more to say. That elipse is not required for the sentence that follows, so why include it? It could also be the article publisher, but I assume that the responses are provided in English by Square Enix directly and therefore its inclusion is deliberate.
Every time Yoshi-P has said something definite and then plans changed later, the fans have thrown it back in his face. Small wonder he's being vaguer about it now.
I'm very happy to see this response. This means they are at least trying to add them (makes no sense to confirm or deny it, since not only is it possible that something like loss of data or sudden limitations occurs, but also makes no sense to waste the hype which will be insane) and they will do everything they can to do so. Makes me think they're working on it, and if they started working on it at, probably, 5.1, means we will hopefully see them added at 6.0
Quality is something I don't find Shadowbringers to have an issue with its quantity that is Shadowbringers biggest flaw.
That is what would most likely be the issue for the expansion they decide to release the missing genders if they do decide to do them. That is what the player base has to decide for itself do they mind having another expansion with a quantity issue.
Well, maybe that's just me, but I would prefer maybe a bit less in amount, but a better quality content, than a tone of middle or even so-so one. I don't believe in a fairy tail called "fast, cheap, perfect", so the moment they will decide to make "good + a lot" every patch while also parallely working on a content for new expansions, I will get ready for a things like subscription fee raising.
Also knowing how greedy the gaming communities in general can be, and ours is no exception (some people already cry about no 2nd Ultimate and so long and all, despite the 2nd Ultimate of SB being released in 4.36, which would make for a 5.36 release for ShB), the more they add with each new patch, the more people would ask for, while also saying that the sub is so expensive they don't see it worth (despite the fact it's still the same price since 2013).
Of course I can talk only for myself. It's up to SE to decide what they want to do. So far they seem to prefer quality over quantity, but we'll see how they will handle upcoming expnasions yet.
Actually 2nd ultimate was released in 4.31 2 weeks after 4.3 launched and tbf they said not one scheduled for 5.3 but could very well come in a later patch Shadowbringers is far from over afterall.
Personally i'd rather have no issue but a quantity one is the least awful to me as that means what was there was enjoyable I just wanted more, that is Shadowbringers to me, i've enjoyed this expansion I just wish there was more and at this point in other expansions there was, so I think it is a concern going forward and one people have to weigh up appropriately for themselves, that interview is very enlightening with what is likely the cost of female Viera and male Hrothgar and it is up to individuals if they are willing to pay that cost again for male Viera and female Hrothgar.
That is my fear, generally I do feel outside of the lore aspect shadowbringers was relative lite on terms of fleshed out contact. A lot of seems more like a Beta, and if that is because of how much strain adding the two races caused, while I would love for Male and female variants if it is at the cost of another lore rich but beta esq feeling expansion I will say as a consumer not sure that is a trade off I am looking to make.
