There is, but that also costs server space, the servers or the 1.0 code itself might just crash or start spazzing out past 24 wards.

There is nothing stopping them getting more servers, except the fact that servers are basically unavailable right now, just look at the NA datacenter being put on hold.

Pretty much this, fighting agaisnt 20 bots (usually a lot less) and 500 "real" players for a plot is a no brainer, I'll take the fight agaisnt a few bots any day, lottery just made it so you have to wait 5 days to know if you won the house or not, making the disappointment even worse when you eventually do lose it, on top of that you only get 3 chances per month to "try" your luck (9 days cycle). So yeah, placard camping was better, sorry not sorry. Placard camping required about 2 hours of effort (prime time) and then the house sold. That was it. If you couldnt do that back then, perhaps you didnt deserve a house in the first place or didnt want it enough.

People wanted the Lottery because it made access to housing fair for all. No more issues with IRL commitments interfering with attempts to obtain a house and no having to compete with people using 3rd party software to get a leg up. It also meant not having to deal with rather unhealthy amounts of click spamming. Your notion that mindlessly camping placards, click spamming and using bots is "working for something" is ridiculous at best. Many of us who are proponents for the Lottery KNOW that our chances are much lower and yet we still favor the Lottery because we want the system to be fair for EVERYONE. I wonder if that is even of the faintest interest to you. Nothing in your post smacks of logic.

Didn't really change much on Balmung. Be it 100+ people on the lotto or 100+ bots standing at a sign post. It's pretty much the same. And after the first 2 weeks, everything is full up again so still same chance to get a house for me, 0. Only thing that will solve any of this would be instanced housing with yards. I don't really care for the "neighborhood" aspect considering, the neighborhoods are completely empty 99.9% of the time anyway.

You people really haven't got a clue. The system was so bad that a lot of people chose to not participate in it, how is that a sign of a good system, how is that fair? This whole elitist take that spamming a placard is something to be proud of and people who didn't get a house with the system were just lazy is insane. Yes, the odds were better with the placard spamming, only if you chose to spam it for hours on end but that's where the positives end and the long list of cons start.

Not all plots opened during "prime time" not everyone could play the game during "prime time", how does that fit in your flawless logic? You're just ignoring all the negatives people have listed here to fit your narrative of a system that was in your eyes perfect and everyone complaining about it was just lazy.
