I have seen one shout and quite a few say in ulda. I don't mind it much as long as it is kept to a min or out of character earshot. Now the fact still remains that Besaid is a not an Official RP Server, as stated by Thevedis. As good an intention you may have to plaster RP next to the merged realm, there will always be those who will take advantage of that "Beacon to guide new players". I know not every RPer is a Jerk or needs to overextend his reach, with that, there will be someone or someones who will take the liberty to RP anywhere. Those who never wanted to interact with RP will not have a leg to stand on because a collective group decided that Its okay to make a change for everyone instead of establishing their own server. You are in essence bullying your way into the server because Its the "Unofficial server". I believe that The server(s) should "Officially" stay a normal server and an "Official" RP server should be made separately. If RPers want to stay in The newly merged server, then stay but be Unofficial as it has always been.

Don't know about you guys, but even if SE doesn't plan for us to have a server now, I'd still like them to reply to this thread and tell me so, at the very least, and say something about 2.0 at least.

I think in the year 2012, with all the positive points that were brought up about designating an RP friendly server, with every other MMO that I can think of having RP servers, with this thread having 276 posts as of this one... as valued customers of this game, we earned a response.

I do see what you're saying with the servers.

And if I were representing Square-Enix, my response to this thread would be similar to (and more properly proofread):

"Thank you for your feedback. At this time, we do not have plans on implementing an official role-playing server during the current world merge. We will continue to consider your feedback on this topic and other specialized rule sets for servers to be introduced in 2.0. At that time, we will allow character transfers to servers, including any servers that may have specialized rule sets."


This and a handful of other threads recently have reminded me that new players on the whole need to be targeted, retained, and server populace must have the flexible to welcome and engage these players. And while I do see why the thread was created and prefer the RP server debacle now, I heed to Bahamut's point which your post also expresses in regards to community choice being presented with a brand new server with an influx of new and returning players, rather than utilizing the existing communities.
