Exactly, so it was delayed.

All in all Yoshi's Team is actually doing a great work. Everything re-doing from scratch because the initial way the game passed was bad.
Yoshi is actually listening to the player base (well for the rest of it :O ) which is good. BUT if they listen too carefully, the players will build up the game and not the developers. Which would be really really disheartening. I'm afraid that the community will mutate to those WoW whiners on blizzard forums. I know I shouldn't be compare these 2 games...
But the current player is also totally spoiled by FFXI it seems. Everyone wants that parts of FFXI are getting revamped and implemented into FFXIV (me too =X ). That wasn't SE's intention I'd bet XD
Sooo we just gotta be patient and watch that video over and over until we get new infos :D
I am one of the fortunate peeps that has created a really great community on our ls (Altepan Warriors!!! Holla!) If it weren't for them I probably would have stopped playing months ago. Of course this line of thought only gets me frustrated about how little they give us LS leaders tools to work with for our linkshells (grrrrrrrrrrr) but I have said my peice about that in another post :p
On a more positive note, I still find myself in awe of how fantastic this game looks everytime I come through the main bridge in LL.
Tons of good stuff here, just need more to do!!!!!!
We can argue semantics all day long until we are blue in the face and still both be right and both be wrong. The fact of the matter is that Yoshi gave us a BEST CASE SCENARIO, but he is not really in a position to give exact details on when something is going to go into the game as he isn't solely responsible for developing the game. He has a dedicated team of programmers and directors and I am sure that he didn't go to each programmer and ask, "So, you can have this done by mid-july, right? I am going to give the community a date of June 21 for patch day! Be ready!" No of course not. He gave us a rough estimate that was being as hopeful as possible, but as work commenced it became clear that there was still a lot to accomplish.
A DELAY can make a project LATE, but for something to be LATE a definite point in time has to be given. Because no definite point in time was given, patch 1.18 is not LATE, even though it is DELAYED. So, TECHNICALLY, you are right, while also being wrong.
And which variables would those be exactly? The stamina gauge is gone. That means the value that each ability had, to subtract an amount from the gaugebar, is gone. In some cases the cooldown value, for delay, of an ability is increased to compensate for the lost stamina gauge, which could have added an additional delay in the old system.
The tp-gain from abilities, besides the default auto-attack, is either a bug or a new feature, but it has nothing to do with balancing auto-attack.
Tell me, besides those 2 values for each ability, from which one is deleted, what other variables would be affected?
/em is kind of dreaming of a SE developer to pop up on the forums and give a lecture about how they did it.
