alright boys, check your rotation.
turns out I been adding an extra TTT after phleb for 8 months so my disembowel and ct always falls off.
that's a 20 dps increase.
condolences me.

I'm not so sure about that, I mean, check the BiS I'm aiming for (I know there's different BiS, but I like to make my owns)

let's say for example that you'll put Acc/Det on your Novus, it'll may give you an huge boost in the Acc, but if you'll look at my other gear, you'll see that there's simply nothing to switch (the pants maybe, but that's 40+ more crit, same as Crit/Det Novus), and you'll end up with way too much Acc.
yeah I know that new content gonne require more Acc, but new Content (i.e. new coils) gonna arrive in 4 months... so, I'll not think too much about that.
with this BiS (and Crit/Det Novus) I have 519 acc, 504 Crit, 308 Det... which is nice.
I think its a good point to get accuracy on the relic, most wont even use it once we have high allagan spear but it should one day be on par ilvl wise with the high allagan so having available accuracy would help out gear choices with poor high allagan drops. Next coil will probably require the accuracy at first too.
Unless tier iv materia prices come way down Im personally planning to go 22det / 33 crit / 20 acc. This way wont need to use any tier iv materia and the stats are quite balanced for future content.
I agree entirely with maintianing the ACC to have choice for future content. We will already be having a 53 DPS weapon (High Allagan) with non-ACC stats, but may need the ACC in future patches. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post2169689
Thanks for the support :) now i'm sure i'm going to do 33 det + 22 crit + 20 acc = 15,213 weight
i really think that 20 acc is more than enough to be safe for the next contents. T9 accuracy cap for DPS is +25 acc than T5 accuracy cap, so +20 on relic will be perfect :D
Hmmm sort of. You could get away with like 456 iirc in T5 and miss a few hits on snakes only (like 1-2 misses per fight) while the true cap was a bit higher. In T9, you could get away with 490ish, but to get 100% you would need what? 512? Even comparing baseline acc of 456 to 490, thats 34 ACC, not 25. Mixing your stats sounds like a sound concept and I think I will do the same now, but just be aware that the acc gap is a bit higher than 25 :P
I think people are missing a few key concepts here in regards to how to optimize their weapon.
1. Putting acc on the weapon to be ready for future content is sound in theory--but when you're on the cutting edge of progression you are not going to sacrifice a minimum of 2 weapon damage (High Allagan) to downgrade to a weapon with acc on it. That's what mixing and matching armor gear is for.
2. For the vast majority of people that play this game the Novus WILL be their BiS weapon since only a fraction of the playerbase will be clearing t9 before echo buffs come out with the 3rd coil. Maximizing the stats on it (crit and det) is the best way for them to go.
3. They would not put 2/31, 1/44, 3/75 on the weapon scroll for no reason. I think it's safe to assume that det is going to cap at 31 and crit at 44.
Please don't take this as a personal attack to anyone that wants to customize their weapon the way they want. These comments are based on personal observations.
The theory is that there will be another upgrade to base damage before a new coil raid is introduced (2.4?) so accuracy will be viable.
For your second point, afaik Sands and Unidentified Stones will drop from the new CT in 2.3, which will make getting Liberator *MUCH* easier than getting Novus, which really makes the Novus kind of an odd "upgrade" at the moment.
